Here’s a look at recent changes in the business landscape in the Sioux Falls area.

Bella & Birch has moved to 900 N. Main Ave. in Tea. The boutique sells baby, children’s and women’s clothing. Owner Liz Carrell and her mother, Mary Carrell, also offer piano lessons out of the location.

 A plant-based chef who closed her restaurant earlier this year now has shut down her food truck and catering business indefinitely because of her financial burden. Darcy Green said she plans to bring back ‘Brosia Bowl someday.

Worthington Tractor Parts has added a Capello USA training and distribution facility on its Sioux Falls campus that also includes a showroom. The expansion is a 24,000-square-foot building at 5400 N. Annika Ave. in the Sioux Falls Development Foundation’s Park VII.

Southeastern Electric Cooperative has expanded its headquarters south of Sioux Falls. The almost 15,000-square-foot addition provides additional offices on two levels, a training center, conference room, boardroom, kitchen area and storage space. The office is at 47077 276th St. along Interstate 29.

Sanford Health is making a new attempt at merging, this time planning to combine with a Wisconsin-based health system that would create a combined organization with about 56,000 employees. Marshfield Clinic Health System, a century-old integrated health system based in Marshfield in central Wisconsin, is about one-fourth the size of Sanford in terms of employees. It serves 45 communities across Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The combined organization would retain the Sanford Health name and be based in Sioux Falls. The merger is expected to close by the end of the year, subject to regulatory processes and closing conditions.

GreatLIFE Golf & Fitness has expanded its Harrisburg location, almost doubling in size. The addition, which is more than 7,000 square feet, includes new equipment for weightlifting, enhanced cardio equipment and basketball hoops.

49th Street Liquor has opened at 3601 S. Minnesota Ave. in part of the former VFW building. It’s open from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily and includes two casinos.

Cassidy Mutchler has started Saddle Up Espresso, a mobile coffee shop. It’s based in the Sunshine Foods parking lot in Lennox and is open in the morning Monday through Saturday The menu includes espresso, cold brew, Italian sodas, specialty hot chocolates and bakery items.

Hartford has broken ground on an approximately 40-acre industrial park and sold its first site. Hartford-based Pro Framing Inc. plans to build an office and shop in the new North Oaks Industrial Park on the city’s northwest side. It will house a growing team and the recently launched Pro Safety Consultants, which works with businesses on everything from safety policies to job site audits.

Green Bin kathy ireland has opened in Sioux Falls, bringing an eco-friendly alternative to cardboard boxes. Homeowners and businesses in the area can rent the commercial-grade plastic bins by the week. Rental fees include dollies to move the bins, packing paper and labels.

A nonprofit drink and snack shop that employs people of all abilities has opened in Brandon. Hours for Buddies & Co., 1309 E. Cedar St., are 7 to 11 a.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays. The menu will include coffee, cold-brew coffee, smoothies, Italian sodas, Lotus energy drinks, blended drinks and snacks, including Flyboy Donuts.

After a delay of two years, work has begun on a grocery store that will replace Andy’s Affiliated Foods at 1025 S. Cleveland Ave. Owner Efrain Patino of Worthington, Minnesota, said he hopes El Mexicano No. 7 will be open in September. It will focus on groceries from Mexico and include products that appeal to all shoppers, he said.

Cellar 54 has moved into a larger space next door to its original shop at Dawley Farm Village. The locally owned store at 716 S. Highline Place sells wine and hosts events. It’s open Tuesday through Saturday.

Locally owned Mr. Donuts is adding a second location in Sioux Falls. The bakery is taking over the former Hardee’s building at 1010 E. 10th St. Owner Stev Meas said he hopes to open yet this summer. It will be open daily.

Tavern 180 has a new name: Jack Rose Social Club. Owner Commonwealth Group, whose holdings include Tinner’s Public House and Deuces Casino, bought the restaurant and bar a couple of years ago and eventually ended the association with the Tavern 180 restaurant group that’s based in Nebraska. Jack Rose Social Club also will be the name of a restaurant the group is opening at The Steel District in downtown Sioux Falls.

Eilers Furs is moving from The Bridges at 57th to the former Tip Top Tux location at 2425 S. Shirley Ave. Owner BrandyAnn Fiala is having a sale to reduce inventory before the new store opens Aug. 1.

Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse has taken over the kitchen in The Gaslight Lounge. It also operates out of On the Rocks in Valley Springs. The Sioux Falls location is open from 5 to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The menu includes smoked wings, burgers, pulled pork or smoked chicken sandwiches, brisket or chicken Phillies and mac-and-cheese loaded bowls.

The new Red Truck Farm near McHardy Park in Brandon features alpacas and a gift shop, which includes roving and yarn from the animals. It’s open on weekends and by appointment.

Minnesota-based Landwehr Construction has acquired Jerke Construction to expand its crane services and heaving moving/rigging into the Sioux Falls market and beyond. Jerke Construction was founded by Don Jerke in 1965. It will keep its name and operate as a division of Landwehr, which has sites in St. Cloud and Chaska.

BibiSol has opened at 219 S. Phillips Ave. The restaurant from the founders of Salas Salsas features farm-to-table ingredients and an indigenous technique for processing dried corn into masa to make tortillas, empanadas and other items on the menu. It’s open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday and brunch on Sunday.

A former restaurant space downtown will be turned into a tasting room for BlackFork Farms Distillery, with a whiskey/cigar lounge called the Pronghorn Club on the back patio. The distillery will be in the former K Restaurant in the 8th & Railroad Center on East Eighth Street. With remodeling work ahead, an opening date hasn’t been set.

The new City Hall in Dell Rapids includes an event venue in its lower level. The Riverside can hold up to 170 people and can be rented for weddings or by the hour for gatherings such as baby showers and corporate training sessions.

Backyard BBQ has added three food trucks this season: another one for barbecue and new concepts called Willy’s Fries with loaded french fries and Street Sweets with Stensland Family Farms ice cream.
