East-side wine shop opens in new space with more room for events

July 15, 2024

This paid piece is sponsored by Dawley Farm Village.

Cellar 54’s newest location is right next to its former one — but offers a much better layout for wine shopping and hosting events.

Find it in a retail center at Dawley Farm Village between Buffalo Wild Wings and Budget Blinds.

“I am very happy with it,” owner Jenna Snyder said. “The space is larger, and it’s a better fit for what I do. There just are a lot more options for the space as opposed to being next door.”

The shop specializes in wine, but the new location “will allow me to add a little more inventory and also change some of what I carry,” she said. “It’ll always be mostly wine, but I’d like to dabble into the spirits a little more because I’m finding people are stopping in and want to grab a bottle of liquor with their wine.”

With a larger space, customers are able to bring in their own food — even Crock-Pots — because Snyder encourages gatherings, with or without reservations. There’s seating for up to 55 people.

“We’ve hosted birthday parties and have regular groups like mahjong players, and we want to do more,” Snyder said.

She’s also organizing special events, including wine tastings weekly — for which she encourages reservations — and ice cream and wine pairings, along with classes such as a Wine 101 introductory course.

Customers can join a monthly wine club for $45 or $75 with no commitment and request Snyder source wines for them too.

“If they can’t find it but know it’s available in the state, I will do my best to find it,” she said. “I like the challenge.”

Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, with the store open later on Thursday because of wine tastings. To learn more and connect with Cellar 54, click here.

“With more restaurants and other places coming to this side of town, those hours are subject to change, and I may begin staying open later,” Snyder added.

Her former space at Dawley Farm Village is drawing interest, according to Ryan Tysdal of Van Buskirk Cos., who has it listed for lease.

“Sales performance continues to be strong for retailers along the Veterans Parkway corridor,” he said. “The former Cellar 54 space is the only existing retail space available for lease in the area.”

The space is 1,492 square feet with an open sales floor and backroom storage.

“Its flexible layout could work for a wide variety of tenants without having to perform a lot of construction,” Tysdal added.

“Retailers are attracted to the area by the aggressive east-side residential growth as well as the Veterans Parkway traffic.”
