Here’s a look at recent changes in the business landscape in the Sioux Falls area.
After years of work, the new breakfast and lunch spot Perch has opened. It’s located in a former neighborhood grocery building at Ninth Street and Grange Avenue. Hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
Watertown-based Dugan Sales & Service has closed its Sioux Falls showroom. It had been in the Gilrich Village retail center at 1116 W. 41st St. since 2021.
A luxury medical spa patterned after others in larger markets has opened in Sioux Falls. Infinity Medical Aesthetics is at 2001 W. Trevi Place, near 85th Street and Western Avenue. Services offered include injectables, skin and body treatments and aesthetics, with 13 procedure rooms. Weekday hours are by appointment.
A new food truck features burgers, including a deep-fried version. Justin Crawford has started Fat Guys Burgers & Food. Regular pop-up spots include Kings Liquor Mart at Cliff and Benson for lunch Tuesday through Thursday. Fat Guys is available for public and private events.
Katie and Greg Jones have added to their Harrisburg wedding venue options with a historic church and schoolhouse. The owners of The Meadow Barn at Country Orchards and The Veranda at Meadow Barn have opened Beaver Creek Wedding Chapel. The couple moved the original Beaver Creek Lutheran Church and Eggers School from Heritage Park on the Augustana University campus. The schoolhouse now serves as a bridal suite.
Dog groomer Heidi MacRunnels has opened The Colorful K-9 at 8002 W. 41st St. Her specialty includes creative color dog styling. Appointments can be made on weekdays.
The Big Orange Truck has come out of storage because of delays in construction for The Taco Vault in Worthing. Dean Marshall and Austin Metivier are cooking out of the food truck next to the former bank building that’s being turned into their restaurant.
BibiSol’s grand opening will be July 19. The owners of Salas Salsas are opening the Mexican restaurant in the former Mrs. Murphy’s Irish Gifts space at 219 S. Phillips Ave. The full-service restaurant will be open Tuesday through Sunday.
El Mariachi Mexican Restaurant has opened in Lennox at 519 S. Main St. It’s open daily. The owners also have locations in Chamberlain and Winner.
The rebuilt Medical Building 1 has opened on the south side of the Sanford USD Medical Center campus. The new building offers four floors of parking, topped off with a floor dedicated to gastroenterology care. There are 10 procedure rooms, 40 rooms for pre- and post-procedure care, 40 exam rooms and 31 physician offices. The building is designed to accommodate three additional stories.
The new Trio Jazz Club offers an intimate music venue with seating for 46, food and a full bar. It’s tucked between two of Riccardo and Marybeth Tarabelsi’s other businesses: Brix Wine Bar and Maribella Ristorante in the Washington Square building at 350 S. Main Ave. It opens at 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and offers live music every night with a $5 cover charge.
The food truck Tacos de Gringo has gone out of business abruptly after three years of serving street tacos and other Mexican food.
The final day for Khorasan Kabob House is July 21. Arian and Tamana Wisaal are closing their Afghan restaurant at 923 S. Marion Road. The restaurant will have regular hours until then: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
