It’s here for the holidays — and beyond. Toys R Us is stocked with toys in a section of Macy’s at The Empire Mall.

“When everyone thought about shopping for toys, they always thought about shopping at Toys R Us,” Adie Trento, the buyer for Macy’s, said in a piece from the national retailer.

“When we thought about what was missing in the market, we really felt like that toy store experience didn’t exist anymore, and we really wanted to bring that back.”

Trento and her team spent 18 months on the relaunch, including sourcing brands of toys that would offer “something for everybody,” she said.

There is a spot featuring Toys R Us mascot Geoffrey the Giraffe designed for photos.

And major toy brands such as Barbie, Lego and Fisher Price are represented.

Toys R Us had a standalone store on The Empire Mall campus until it closed in 2018 as part of a nationwide bankruptcy.

While the store-within-a-store at Macy’s opened for the holiday season, it is a permanent addition.

“We want this to be a year-round thing,” Trento said. “We want kids to feel like they’re coming to a toy store.”
