If you love entertaining, want extra space for hobbies and recreation, or dream of combining luxury living with a one-of-a-kind workshop and entertainment area, one standout home at this spring’s Parade of Homes should be at the top of your tour list.
The semiannual event from the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire Inc. returns May 9-10 and May 16-17 from 1 to 5 p.m., featuring 60 homes in a variety of styles and price ranges throughout Sioux Falls and the surrounding metro area.
Located at 27243 Noble Circle west of Tea, this featured home showcases the growing popularity of the “barndominium” lifestyle, a style of home that blends the rustic feel and functionality of a barn with the comfort and design of a modern condominium.
Often referred to as a “shouse,” short for “shop house,” these homes combine upscale living spaces with oversized garages, workshops and entertainment areas under one roof. Lots generally range from 1 to 2 acres, and this style of home is permitted only outside Sioux Falls city limits.
“We’re seeing more homeowners looking for spaces that combine everyday living with recreation, storage and entertaining all under one roof,” said builder Cory Gronewold of Elevated Construction. “These homes offer a unique lifestyle that gives families room to gather, work on projects, host guests and truly customize how they live.”
The home pairs upscale residential finishes with a massive two-story garage and shop area designed for entertaining, hobbies, storage and more, creating a space that feels equally suited for everyday living and weekend hosting.

Three featured homes in this spring’s Parade of Homes, including this property, require a $5 admission fee per adult, per home to tour. Cash payments only will be accepted; credit cards, Venmo and checks will not be accommodated.
All remaining Parade homes are free to tour.
Proceeds from featured home admissions support the Home Builders Care Foundation, helping fund programs such as construction camps for middle school students, scholarships and workforce development grants for local schools. By touring, attendees also are helping invest in the future of the building industry.
To make navigating the event even easier, attendees can download the HBASE On The Go app for directions, home details, builder information and an interactive tour experience throughout the Parade.
