First Bank & Trust is building on its presence in the Twin Cities.

The Brookings-based bank announced a new, more than 20,000-square-foot location in Edina, Minnesota.

Construction is scheduled to start in the spring.

“This building will give us an opportunity to increase our presence in the Edina market,” market president Jim Basten said in a statement. “At the same time, it will allow us to have an enhanced retail banking presence and customer experience, with better access and visibility, providing needed space for our rapidly growing Twin Cities banking team.”

First Bank & Trust entered the Twin Cities market in 2017 through a merger with Peoples Bank of Commerce and State Bank of New Prague. There are two locations in the metro area and four additional locations in surrounding communities.

The current Edina location will be replaced with the new building.
