Restaurant Roundup: Upcoming closings, new Sunday brunch spot

The owners of Nature’s Way Juice Bar have decided to close the shop at 2604 S. Louise Ave. The final day will be Dec. 23. “As our family continues to grow, we feel called to focus our time and energy on our young and very active little ones and all of their adventures,” the owners wrote in a post on social media. “This next chapter is about being present with them and supporting their activities during these special years. We cannot thank this community enough for the love, support and kindness you’ve shown us.” The juice shop opened in December 2016.

Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse is closing its kitchen in The Gaslight Lounge at the end of the month. Owner Randy Ragatz said he’s getting out of the restaurant business. Since 2020, he has operated barbecue joints out of bars in Harrisburg, Canton and Valley Springs, with the Sioux Falls site opening in the summer of 2024. Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.

The new Rivage Oak Kitchen in the Cherapa Apex has added breakfast on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is no longer open for dinner service that day. Here’s a look at the menu. That’s a photo of the Smoked Salmon Benedict at the top of the article.

22Ten Kitchen Cocktails is giving local customers a taste of the restaurant group’s newest dining establishment with its latest featured menu. WR Hospitality opened Wild Sage Kitchen & Cocktails in Rapid City in July. The restaurant is adjacent to the new ClubHouse Hotel & Suites from Sioux Falls-based The Ramkota Cos. The menu will be available for another three or four weeks.

A favorite frozen pizza in local bars is now available for take-and-bake. Lucky Ladz in Crooks has a freezer stocked with Roskens Dakota Pizzas.

Ranch & Roost has created a corporate catering menu featuring burger and taco bars with 20-person minimums.


M.B. Haskett Delicatessen has a new winter dinner menu, “featuring dishes that will warm you up and bring comfort through the hustle and bustle of December.”

Roam Kitchen + Bar is serving its annual holiday features menu through the end of the year.

Among the holiday treats you’ll find at CH Patisserie: Chocolate Dream, Buche de Noel and Peppermint Stick Cheesecake.

CNC Food Factory has new seasonal doughnut flavors: orange cranberry, gingerbread, cherry cordial, vanilla peppermint and chocolate peppermint. The baked doughnuts also are available gluten-free.

Among the featured cupcakes for December at Oh My Cupcakes is Cozy Hot Cocoa.

Nothing Bundt Cakes’ newest featured flavor, Peppermint Chocolate Chip, will be available through Jan. 4.

Coffea Roasterie has introduced its winter menu. Offerings at all cafes: Lumberjack, White Chocolate, Peppermint and Butterscotch lattes and Peppermint Hot Chocolate, along with ginger molasses cookies and a chocolate and peppermint brownie. Exclusive drinks at the Louise cafe: Toasted Marshmallow Latte and Tonic of Grove; downtown: Eggnog Latte and Espresso Toddy; and Dawley: Eggnog Latte and Smokey Mountain Latte. Seasonal winter sips and hot chocolate are available at SoDak Soda. Check out the seasonal flavors below. Hot chocolate flavors are regular, creme de menthe, salted caramel, candy cane, English toffee, raspberry, s’mores and Old Fashioned with whipped cream, mini marshmallows and rainbow sprinkles.

The Breaks Coffee Roasting Co. brought back two popular “blasts from holidays pasts” for its December featured drinks: Hot Choco-Mint and Oatnawg, a vegan eggnog.

The east-side Attic Bar & Grill has released its winter drink menu: Reindeer Pi**, Apple Cider Martini, Hot Ass Chocolate and Minty Ass’tini.

Charlie’s Pizza has two specials: family night and date night. For family night, get a large single-topping pizza and pitcher of pop or domestic beer for $35 or upgrade to a specialty pizza for an additional $5. For date night, get a medium single-topping pizza, cheese/garlic bread and two drinks for $25.

The Crack’d Pot Restaurant & Bakery has new winter lunch specials that are available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.

Chipotle has two BOGO offers coming up. On Saturday, buy a burrito and get a free entree. On Dec. 20, wear an extra sweater in the restaurant and get a free entree with the purchase of an entree. The offer is limited to five free menu items per check.

Camille’s Sidewalk Cafe is offering two deals on its sandwiches of the month. Cranberry Brie Panini features turkey, spinach, brie and cranberry mayo dressing on toasted focaccia. Buy one and two drinks, and get a free entree through Dec. 14. If you order online, use the code CRANBERRY. The other featured sandwich is the Hot Croissant, which is available with ham and cheddar or turkey and Swiss. From Dec. 15-31, get one for $8 or two for $12. 212 The Boiling Point in Brandon is collecting nonperishable food items for the Brandon Valley Food Pantry through Dec. 22. Each donation is good for a short domestic tap, well shot or drink, or a soda.

Glacial Lakes Distillery & Brewhouse is donating a portion of sales from Abuelita’s Espresso Martini to help support the kids at the Children’s Home Shelter for Family Safety. The drink features the distillery’s spicy Mexican chocolate liqueur, fresh espresso, Runabout Chocolate Rum and a touch of cayenne. The martini is one of six new craft cocktails on the holiday menu, which also includes Poma-Berry Ornamen-tini, Mikes Dreamsicle, The Last Word, St. Collins and The Jolly Dude. Events
Yonutz is coming to Brandon on Saturday. Kingbird Coffee will be selling Yonutz’s Christmas doughnuts by the box. Customers also can pre-order from the Yonutz menu by going online at yonutz.com and choosing a pickup time of 8:20 a.m. Saturday – that’s how the crew will know the doughnuts need to go to Brandon. They’ll be there by 7 a.m. The deadline to order is 9 p.m. Friday.

From 11 a.m. to midnight Monday, Dec. 15, Verde Lounge in the Holiday Inn City Centre is donating a portion of food and beverage sales to B-Squad Dog Rescue.

Stensland Family Farms hasn’t hosted a Casey’s Bakery pop-up for some time, but shop is taking orders for treats from the Sioux Center, Iowa, business. Orders must be placed online or by calling the shop by Dec. 17, and the items will be delivered beginning Dec. 19.

Changes in hours, service
- Cold Stone Creamery is undertaking a remodeling project, so hours and the menu will be limited next week. The store expects to be open from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, but that could change depending on the work. The plan is to be back to regular hours and service on Friday, Dec. 19.
