It’s official: A ribbon-cutting ceremony late last week celebrated Pomegranate Market’s expansion to downtown.

Customers have been steadily discovering the new grocery store and bistro at Cherapa Place since opening late last year.

“Pomegranate Market is a dream of ours,” co-owner Jonah Snyder said. “We want this to be a place where people can find great nutrition, gather and all-around support the local food ecosystem.”

In nearly any category, “we’re almost certainly working with some local food producer to get it on our shelves,” he said.

The store is located in the first floor of The Clark building, 350 N. Reid Place.

“I think Pomegranate is the best thing to happen to downtown in 20 years,” said Anne Haber, co-owner of developer Pendar Properties.

“I’m not saying that because I’m part of the development and management of the Cherapa complex but because I’m a consumer. This place is amazing.”
