Restaurant Roundup: Parlour expands hours, plus seasonal flavors and special deals

June 6, 2024

Parlour has expanded with evening hours for the summer. The downtown ice cream shop is now on the second floor of the Washington Pavilion. Customers don’t have to pay Pavilion membership to visit Parlour, which has many familiar flavors from when it was located across the street at Washington Square.

For the summer, Parlour is open:

  • Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Sunday from 12 to 5 p.m.

JJ’s Wine Spirits & Cigars has brought back some customer favorites to the menu in The Bar. The JJ’s Reuben is back and The Smokehouse Smash Burger has made its way to the permanent menu.

Here’s a fun menu item, available this month at all B&G Milkyway locations:

The Poagie Burger is now available at Murph’s Burgers & Fries. The restaurant entered this hoagie-inspired burger that began as loaded French fries in Madison’s burger brawl. It’s a Fire River Ranch beef patty with pulled pork, apple jam, American and Swiss cheeses, pickled jalapeño and onion gold mayo on a toasted brioche bun.

Roundhouse Brew Pub has added new summer cocktails to the menu: Blood Orange Margarita, Roundhouse Rum Punch, Tequila Creamsicle and Roundhouse Lemonade.

There are new menu items to try at Chef Lance’s on Phillips, including this New York steak and scallops.

Other new additions include Creole pork tenderloin with roasted red pepper grits, Caprese salad and buffalo chicken egg rolls.

Mark down June 8, dads, for a “Daddy and me” decorating class at Oh My Cupcakes! on June 8 at 10 a.m. It’s held at the location at 3326 E. 10th St. Registration includes instruction, refreshments, and everything needed to create a 24-cupcake creation made with chocolate peanut butter and strawberry cupcakes. Bring your ID on your actual birthday and purchase an entrée or appetizer for at least $9.99. You’ll receive a souvenir cup that entitles you to free rail liquor drinks and domestic beers on your special day.

Get in a little exercise balanced out by beer and pizza with the inaugural Hello Hi bike ride. Start at the downtown bar at 4:30 p.m. on June 9 in this ride co-organized with Spoke-n-Sport. Hit the bike trail and then return for beer and pizza from Pizza Cheeks. There’s also a voluntary 50/50 raffle to benefit the Whittier Bike Club.

MacKenzie River Pizza has brought back its annual Montana-inspired 406 Summer Fare menu. Bison chili also has returned to the menu.
