What brought you to Sioux Falls?

I was born in Sioux Falls; these are my roots.

What keeps you in Sioux Falls?

Family, friends and the community. It is tough to see myself living anywhere other than Sioux Falls.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

My favorite thing about working at Northwestern Mutual is the opportunity to meet new people and learn their hardships, successes and journey to what got them to where they are today. I also enjoy the satisfaction of seeing clients set and achieve goals they may not have thought were possible prior to our planning.

How did you get connected to your industry?

I have always been a financial nerd. I worked for seven years at Sanford Health before taking the leap into the financial planning industry. I was referred to Northwestern Mutual by an acquaintance that had also been through the interview process.

What is something someone might be surprised to learn about you?

I’m a season ticket holder with the Minnesota Vikings.

What’s your favorite way to give back to your community?

Assist with local community service projects and donate to the church.

What’s one business you’d like to see in Sioux Falls that isn’t here now?

Raising Cane’s.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

In five years, I will still be with Northwestern Mutual feeling proud of the client book that I have built. I hope that my wife and I will have welcomed our second child into our family. I would also like to have visited a bucket list destination: Hawaii or Europe.
