Restaurant Roundup: Pizzas, happy hours, Dawg Days

The Good Earth Farm is taking reservations for its first weekend of pizza nights, which will be Saturday and Sunday on Memorial Day weekend. Reservations aren’t required – they just ensure you’ll get a pizza. After that, most dates are Fridays and Sundays through August and then Saturdays and Sundays into October. To see all the dates, visit thegoodearth.us. The farm near Lennox installed a larger pizza oven this spring. Bring a chair and bug spray. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Nunzio’s Pizza Kitchen is still operating out of Harvester Kitchen by Bryan. Current offerings include margherita, pepperoni, cheese, wild mushroom, prosciutto, Veggie Dream and S.P.O. with spicy Italian sausage, roasted peppers and caramelized onions. A Homestead Brew is hosting the Heritage Fireworks Show on Saturday with Whistlestop Fireworks. The brewery east of Sioux Falls will open at 2 p.m., and Sheep Flockers and Chef Omar Thornton will start selling food at 4 p.m. There’s a corn hole tournament at 6 p.m., and live music with Almost Iowa at 6 p.m. and then after the fireworks show. The two-hour fireworks show includes a 100,000-firecracker Wall of Fire, pyromusical displays and exhibition shells, starting at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased here. All ages are welcome.

DaDa Gastropub is starting a special three-course dinner for two on Tuesday nights. The menu will change every week. Next week is arancini, panzanalla and cacio e pepe with chicken. The price is $40 per person.

New happy hour deals also are available at DaDa Gastropub from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays.

Here’s a happy hour for ice cream lovers: Stensland Family Farms has specials from noon to 2 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays.

There’s still time to try the specials for May at Crave American Kitchen & Sushi Bar. Available for lunch and dinner are the Watermelon & Feta Salad, Seafood Flatbread and Dukkah Spiced Salmon. At lunchtime, there’s a pork belly Reuben. For dinner, there’s a prime top sirloin. Mini dessert options are French silk, berries & cream and tiramisu. With the arrival of the “Dawg Days” of summer, Crack’d Pot Restaurant has hot dog specials for lunch on Fridays. All four options feature a quarter-pound Nathan’s Famous all-beef hot dog. The special will run through Aug. 30.

The east-side Oh My Cupcakes location is celebrating the third season of “Bridgerton” on Netflix with a Bridgerton Tipsy Tea on May 23. Guests as invited to dress as a favorite character. The menu will include refreshments tailored to the show and “parlour pastimes,” and each guest will receive a gift bag. The cost is $45 for the event, which runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Make reservations here.

Alibi Bar & Grill’s burger of the month is the Cheese Curd Burger. A quarter-pound patty on a Breadsmith bun is topped with Stensland Family Farms cheese curds and ranch dressing.

Next door to Alibi, the pizza of the month at The Scapegoat is BBQ Chicken. A 12-inch, hand-tossed crust is topped with barbecue sauce, roasted chicken, red onion, mozzarella and cheddar.

Obscure Brewing Co. has introduced two 2.0 version pizzas. Improved versions of Buffalo Chicken Dip and Bacon Cheeseburger are available, made fresh to order.

Buffalo Wild Wings is offering all-you-can-eat boneless wings and fries for $20 on Monday and Wednesday nights.

The Cattitude Cafe has a new specials menu with tuna salad and open-faced turkey sandwiches, the Very Berry Fruit Board and chicken bacon ranch pasta salad.

Lucky’s on Louise is offering a discount on Mondays to veterans, active-duty military, first responders and medical personnel. Get 20 percent off all day.

Bowls are back at Sickies Garage Burgers & Brews. Offerings include Sick Mac & Cheese, BBQ Pork Mac & Cheese, Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese, Poutine Mashed Potato Bowl and Crispy Mashed Bowl.

Ruby Tuesday introduced its limited-time Tex-Mex menu in late April, and it’s available for two or three more weeks. New offerings include a steak burrito bowl, Fiesta Fajitas, chicken fajita tacos and a churros sundae. Get a mini margarita for $2.

New drinks and treats are on the summer menu at Scooter’s Coffee. A new s’mores cookie joins returning favorites the s’mores latte and s’mores creme cold brew. New Quenchers flavors are pineapple mint and strawberry lime, and there’s a new Duos flavor in the fruit smoothies. New pretzel snackers come with a choice of cheese or caramel dip, and they’re also part of a kid’s combo with a bigger smoothie at 12 ounces and a “fun surprise.”

Dollaritas are back for a limited time at Applebees. Get a classic margarita for $1.

Changes in hours, service
- Umami Cafe & Catering will no longer be open on Tuesdays so it can accommodate a new partnership to provide food one day a week to a large employer. New hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Grab-and-go options will continue to be available at the cafe, which is in Signature Flight Support at Joe Foss Field.
