New energy-efficient home tops sales report at $857,500

The most expensive residential sale for the week of Dec. 20 was $857,500 for a new energy-efficient home in The Grand Prairie neighborhood.

The house on the south side of Sioux Falls was built by NRG Homes with SIP exterior walls. In addition to being environmentally friendly, some of the benefits of structural insulated panels are increased energy efficiency and less dust and allergens in the home. The 2,150-square-foot home has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Features include a outside fireplace and an elevated concrete deck.
