Here’s a look at recent changes in the business landscape in the Sioux Falls area.

Landscape Garden Centers has opened Bloom & Branch in the Jones421 Building at 421 N. Phillips Ave. The space previously was 605 Florista, and former owner Ariana Johnson has joined the Bloom & Branch team. The shop offers a selection of floral arrangements and bouquets, custom orders, small plants and tropical indoor trees. It’s open Monday through Saturday.

A new mobile coffee shop operates year-round. Denae Matherly has started The Good Stuff. The drink menu includes hot or iced lattes, drip coffee, Lotus energy drinks and Italian sodas. For food, there are homemade caramel rolls and packaged egg bites. The Good Stuff does pop-ups and can be booked for public or private events.

Totally Rad Pizza by Fernson Brewing Co. will fill the first-floor space at the Harvester Building at 196 E. Sixth St. that was vacated recently by Harvester Kitchen by Bryan and Nunzio’s Food Hall. It’s expected to open in spring. In addition to pizza, Totally Rad will make sandwiches, small plates, salads and a couple of entrees. It will serve Fernson’s craft brews and cocktails made with its new line of spirits. Fernson Downtown and Totally Rad Eats at 332 S. Phillips Ave. will remain open.

Credo’s Pub at 5524 W. Success St. closed temporarily in late January but no information was provided on when it would reopen. “Remember to visit our sister pub, BB’s, located a block away,” management said in a post on social media.

HK, formerly known as Harvester Kitchen by Bryan, and Nunzio’s Food Hall have opened in their new space at Cherapa Place at 319 N. Reid Place.

The Cattitude Cafe, which took in cats from the Sioux Falls Area Human Society in an effort to find homes for them, has closed. The business opened in 2023 in the Johnson Building at 225 E. 11th St. and helped almost 600 cats find homes.

Chicken restaurant chain Chick N Max has ended its franchise model, prompting the closure of the location at Lake Lorraine. The restaurant at 2201 S. Lorraine Place opened in 2023.

Kim Montgomery has purchased MK Threads Boutique at 222 S. Phillips Ave.

Sneaker Flavorz has closed its location in The Empire Mall but will reopen this spring under a new name at 206 S. Phillips Ave. in the former Lauriebelles space. Owner Mark Dorame sells collectible sneakers, other shoes, vintage shirts, streetwear, sports cards and memorabilia, and collectible cards.

Adorn has moved into a boardwalk space at The Cascade, 701 N. Phillips Ave. Owner Laura Buller, a registered nurse, provides needle piercing and permanent makeup services by appointment. She also sells jewelry.

Sisters Jade and Rane Stehly are opening Power Pilates this month in a space along the boardwalk at The Cascade.

Iron Range Golf Performance has opened at 5501 N. Interchange Ave. The indoor golf facility features seven holes on artificial grass; five Trackman golf simulators; lessons from co-owners Danny Sinksen and Drew Trautman, who are PGA professionals; and club fitting and repairs. The business model is membership-based with 24/7 access, but there are some public hours.

Glacial Lakes Distillery & Brewhouse has closed. Watertown-based Glacial Lakes Distillery opened the cocktail lounge at 200 S. Main Ave. in 2021. The distillery will continue to operate.

Sioux Falls-based The Ramkota Companies has become the general partner in two Fargo hotels. The newly acquired properties are the Four Points by Sheraton Fargo Medical Center and the Hampton Inn & Suites Fargo Medical Center.

The nonprofit Gateway Hartford Inc. has been formed by five business and community leaders in Hartford to facilitate the cleanup and future use of the city’s former wastewater lagoon site, which is part of a roughly 158-acre area between 464th and Western avenues along Interstate 90. Gateway Hartford intends to pursue state and federal funds to help remediate the lagoons and redevelop the property over the coming years into a possible corporate business park along with retail offerings and housing.

Joy Collective Yoga Studio at 319 N. Main Ave. has expanded into an adjacent space. In addition to classes, owner Sarah Joy Lindemulder offers workshops and retreats.

Jersey Mike’s Subs is expanding to Tea. Sioux Falls-area franchisee Andrew Ticknor will open the sandwich shop later this year. It will be at 106 Venture Place, in a retail center next to Interstate 29.

Backyard BBQ has closed its brick-and-mortar restaurant in Sioux Falls for now but will continue to offer catering services and operate its seven food trucks while it finds a new location. The business expanded from Brookings to 3705 S. Western Ave. in 2014. The goal is to find another location after the upcoming food truck season and reopen in the first quarter of 2027.

Dream Home Appliance and Beds at 2723 W. 41st St. has closed. The locally owned store opened in June 2024.
