Jersey Mike’s Subs is expanding to Tea.

The national sandwich chain has leased space next to Taco John’s and Anytime Fitness in a retail center next to Interstate 29.

“We’re excited to be part of the Tea community,” said Andrew Ticknor, the Jersey Mike’s franchisee for the Sioux Falls area. “Traffic, area workforce, community — this site checks all the boxes we look for in successful locations.”

“Jersey Mike’s will be an exciting addition to the Tea area,” he said. “This will be a popular option for the thousands of employees who are employed nearby.”

The visibility to Interstate 29 was a huge draw, according to Ryan Tysdal of Van Buskirk Cos., who represents Jersey Mike’s in South Dakota.

“This stretch of I-29 averages around 50,000 vehicles per day,” he said.

Jersey Mike’s opened its first South Dakota location about five years ago in Sioux Falls. Now, there are sandwich shops in Brandon, Rapid City, Spearfish, Deadwood and Aberdeen, with more in the works.

“We are actively working on statewide expansion,” Tysdal added. “We are currently working on sites in multiple South Dakota cities.”

Jersey Mike’s anticipates having the Tea location open in midyear.
