Here’s a look at recent changes in the business landscape in the Sioux Falls area.

Sioux Falls Thrive has ceased operations after serving the community for seven years. The nonprofit focused on food security, affordable housing and out-of-school enrichment, partnering with other organizations, churches, businesses, government and individuals to address those issues. Thrive’s leadership cited financial pressures.

Drybar has reopened in Sioux Falls under a new franchisee. The hair salon at 4123 W. 41st St. provides blowouts as its only service.

First Premier Bank has purchased land on the northwest corner of Arrowhead and Veterans parkways and plans to break ground for a branch there next year and open it in 2027.

B|Well plans to build a fitness and wellness center next year northeast of Veterans Parkway and Madison Street. The business currently leases space on Sycamore Avenue and also has a center in Brookings. The new location is expected to open late next year or in early 2027.

Locally owned Couture Luxury Flooring & Design Studio has opened at 1500 N. Powderhouse Road. The new 17,000-square-foot building includes showroom and warehouse space.

The ownership group for The Attic is bringing the first South Dakota location of a popular Arizona breakfast chain to Sioux Falls. Over Easy will be built as a stand-alone restaurant at Dawley Farm Village, with a targeted opening date of March 2026.

Fareway Meat & Grocery will expand to northwest Sioux Falls. The Iowa-based grocer has purchased land on Marion Road, just north of Jefferson High School, with plans to construct a 21,000-square-foot store. Iowa-based Fareway has two stores in Sioux Falls, one in Harrisburg and one in Tea and has plans in the works for a store in Brandon. A timeline for construction has not been announced.

Eilers Furs has acquired the customer base of Rhomberg Furs, a fifth-generation furrier based in Iowa that closed its remaining storefront with the owner’s retirement. Eilers will provide annual pickup and drop-off services for off-season storage, biennial cleaning, repairs and remodels for customers in several Iowa cities and Rockford, Illinois.

Select Specialty Hospital, a national health care provider that operates on the campus of Sanford USD Medical Center, is closing its location here by the end of the year. The 24-bed hospital, which is a recovery hospital for critically ill patients, has operated in leased space that Sanford now requires to support its growth, according to a statement from Select Medical.

Two new businesses in Dell Rapids offer indoor play spaces. The Party Place provides toys and games for babies through preteens. The space also can be rented for groups and special events. The Fun Nook features a nine-hole mini-golf course, retro games, arcade basketball and Mario Kart. Bookings are required but available for a minimum of two people.
