Here’s a look at recent changes in the business landscape in the Sioux Falls area.

A second Atomic Wings has opened in Sioux Falls. The new southwest location is at 3217 S. Sertoma Ave. The chain specializes in fresh, hormone-free wings and chicken tenders paired with sauces and rubs. It’s open daily.

Sensory gym We Rock the Spectrum has opened at 3224 E. 10th St. The inclusive play space for children also features an event space, toy shop, room for music lessons and a preschool for 3- to 5-year-olds starting in the fall.

The new Paradigm Lumber is a locally owned, full-service lumberyard that supports the need of residential and commercial projects. It’s at 3335 N. Lewis Ave. and features drafting services, a showroom and delivery within a 100-mile radius of Sioux Falls.

Tires and More in Harrisburg has moved into a large new shop at 912 N. Cliff Ave. The family-owned business offers a full range of tire brands, installation, auto maintenance and repair services, including alignments, oil changes and brakes.

Amazon is planning to expand its presence in Sioux Falls with an additional location at Foundation Park. Amazon.com Services LLC purchased almost 32 acres recently from the Sioux Falls Development Foundation. The company bought the land, which is near its regional fulfillment center that opened in 2022, “with the intent of opening an operations facility in the area to continue to provide faster delivery and great service to local customers,” a spokesperson said. Amazon currently uses leased space along 60th Street North as a delivery station.

Two Sioux Falls-based businesses have new offerings in Rapid City. The Ramkota Companies has opened a ClubHouse Hotel & Suites. The 90-room hotel includes a full-service restaurant from WR Hospitality. Wild Sage Kitchen & Cocktails is expected to open later this month.

A franchise known for its late-night “fat sandwiches” is coming to downtown Sioux Falls. Tyler and Makenzie Weir are bringing Fat Shack to the 8th & Railroad Center. The restaurant’s signature sandwich is loaded with cheesesteak, chicken fingers, jalapeno poppers, mozzarella sticks and french fries. They hope to open in early fall. It will be open daily, as late as 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

Fernson Brewing Co. has reopened its original taproom at its north-side brewery at 1400 E. Robur Drive. It had been closed since early 2020 except for FernsonFest and private events. Hours are 3 to 9 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 1 to 7 p.m. Saturdays.

The United States Postal Service is closing its satellite retail locations at Lewis Drug and Hy-Vee locations in the Sioux Falls area. They’ll remain open until Sept. 30.

The Summit League has extended its contract to keep Sioux Falls as the host city for its Basketball Championships through 2029.

A locally owned eight-court indoor pickleball facility is coming to Sioux Falls. The PB Jar will open, possibly by early November, at 3701 S. Western Ave. in a renovated warehouse. Memberships will be available, along with  open play for nonmembers.

The nonprofit SuFu Creative has opened a store that resells donated arts and crafts supplies. reCREATE is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday at 218 W. 13th St. Founder Heather Cain also is taking bookings for her new paint-throwing room and tie-dye studio at her adjacent Zenith Art Studios.
