Here’s a look at recent changes in the business landscape in the Sioux Falls area.

A longtime manager at Breadsmith is now a partial owner. Local franchisee Susie Patrick brought on Janet Ryan as a co-owner at the beginning of the year. Patrick co-founded the business with her father, Chuck Bahnson, in 1997. Bahnson is no longer part of the ownership team.

Dakota Digital has expanded its headquarters in northwest Sioux Falls with a 40,000-square-foot addition. The company manufactures aftermarket gauges for hot rods, muscle cars, street rods and trucks. It also has a full line of gauges for Harley-Davidson motorcycles.  The new building at 4720 W. 61st St. N. includes the showroom, sales offices, tech support staff, electronic subassembly, final assembly lines, finished inventory and shipping. The original building at 4510 W. 61st St. N., will be remodeled and will house administrative offices, raw inventory, the machine shop, wire and cable assembly, and instrumentation faceplate printing and lasering. The company also is constructing a 60,000-square-foot building to the north that can be divided into 20,000-square-foot bays for lease.

A new golf simulator business based around monthly memberships has opened in south Sioux Falls. Swing365 has two simulators. It’s open 24/7 in a retail center at 3014 W. 57th St. next to JJ’s Axes & Ales.

Antigua Taco House is coming to the original location of Jacky’s Restaurant at 702 E. Eighth St. The concept will be similar to Jacky’s Burrito Express, said Roberto Lopez, who is starting the business with Leslie Reyes, the co-owner of that restaurant. It’s expected to be open within the next month for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day except for Sunday.

Sioux Falls Lincoln will open its own standalone dealership building this year. The new space is under construction near where the dealership currently operates alongside Sioux Falls Ford at 4901 W. 26th St.

Fans of the Mexican food truck Taqueria Juanita can find their favorites year-round now. The business has opened a restaurant with the same name at 923 S. Marion Road. It opens at 10 a.m. Tuesday through Sunday, closing at 9 p.m. every day except for Sunday when it closes at 3 p.m. The owners will keep the food truck and plan to use it for larger special events in the summer.

Heritage Boutique at 220 S. Phillips Ave. has closed, citing the economy for a drop in sales. The business opened downtown as Chelsea’s Boutique in 2013, changed ownership in 2023 and rebranded last year.

Luxe Falls Venue has opened at 2517 S. Shirley Ave. and is taking bookings for weddings, other celebrations, events and meetings. The space can hold 230 people, but the setup for tables and chairs will seat up to 200 guests so they aren’t crowded, owner Happy Singh said. Weddings will be booked for the entire day, and other gatherings can rent the space in six-hour slots.

Dart Boutique has expanded to carry merchandise from online-only boutiques and local makers. The shop is at The Bridges at 57th retail center and is open daily.

Consigner’s Designs at 2117 S. Minnesota Ave. closed at the end of the year with the owner’s retirement. For almost two decades, the store sold furniture and decor on consignment.
