Restaurant Roundup: New flatbreads, pizzas, cheap eats

Remedy Brewing Co. has a half-dozen new menu items: Southwest Eggrolls, Spicy Potato Skins, Big Dawg Muffuletta, Beef N’ Cheddar Dip, Patio Pork Sandwich and Sweet N’ Spicy BBQ Chicken flatbread.

Lucky’s on Louise has updated its menu. New items include boneless and traditional wings with a choice of several house-made sauces, chislic and mozzarella sticks. There’s also a new new Lucky Ending dessert menu.

Lava’s Coffee in Harrisburg has added flatbread pizzas to the menu. Toppings include cheese, pepperoni, sausage, Canadian bacon and veggies. They take 15 minutes to bake, but can be ordered in advance for a quicker lunch. Caramel rolls and cinnamon rolls are new too.

R Wine Bar & Kitchen’s July features include Champagne Chicken, Chocolate Espresso Cheesecake and Berries and Cream Creme Brulee. For lunch, there’s a roast beef sandwich.

Instead of a featured burger of the month, Alibi Bar & Grill is doing a wrap for July. Get a chicken bacon ranch wrap for $10.

At the neighboring Scapegoat, the pizza of the month is hot honey pepperoni.

The multi-course menus for July at Harvester Kitchen by Bryan now include a fully vegan plant-based offering. Add-ons include caviar and sorbet or ice cream sundae bars. See the menus here.

Squealer’s Smoke Shack in Tea is doing lots of celebrating in the coming days. Saturday is the 10th birthday party with live music from 11 Years New starting at 8 p.m. and food and drink specials. Monday, America’s Best Restaurants will be there with a film crew from 4 to 7 p.m. “Who knows? If you’re lucky you may even be featured as a cameo in the background of the episode,” the restaurant said in a post on social media.

Other restaurants being featured included Chuds Pub & Grub in Larchwood, Iowa, with filming from 10:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday and Carnaval Brazilian Grill later that day from 4 to 5 p.m.

Rain in June put the kibosh on Look’s Marketplace’s first attempt at a summer kickoff backyard barbecue, but the party is back on for Saturday. Tickets are $75 and include a quarter rack of ribs, a quarter-pound of brisket, pit sausage, half of a smoked chicken, campfire beans, broccoli salad, biscuits with hot honey butter and two pours of a Look’s Beer Co. brew or two glasses of wine. Hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets must be ordered in advance.

The Hello Hi is hosting an after-party Saturday for Headlights Theater with a portion of proceeds from the featured cocktail Headlights going to the nonprofit group.

Sanaa’s 8th Street Gourmet is hosting a Sunday brunch fundraiser for local producers affected by recent flooding. All proceeds will be donated. In addition to Sanaa Abourezk’s Syrian breakfast offerings, the brunch will feature Persian dishes from T.R. McKenzie, the executive chef at Morrie’s Steakhouse. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Pinz in Dell Rapids is hosting a breakfast fundraiser from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday for the family of Jamie Monroe, who died June 6 in an auto accident near Dell Rapids. Monroe of Jasper, Minnesota, owned Tranquil Lotus Massage Therapy in Dell Rapids. The cafe in the bowling alley will serve pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee for a freewill donation, and all proceeds will go to Monroe’s husband and three children.

The Cattitude Cafe is celebrating its one-year anniversary Monday with on-the-spot adoptions from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and almost three dozen kittens and cats who need a home. There’s a new specials menu to enjoy for summer.

For Monday’s National Mac and Cheese Day, Noodles & Company is offering $5 meals from its Mac & Cheese Mashup menu.

Taco Bell is offering a $7 value meal for a limited time. The Luxe Craving Box includes a Chalupa Supreme, Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, Double Stacked Taco, chips and nacho cheese sauce, and a medium drink.

Crabfest kicked off in June at Red Lobster, but there’s still time to try several new combos, along with the new Creamy Crab Carbornara and new Crab Mac & Cheese. There’s also a secret menu item: Flavor Flav’s Favorites with lobster, snow crab legs, garlic shrimp scampi, bacon mac-and-cheese and a side.

Josiah’s Coffeehouse, Cafe & Bakery has new drink specials for July: Honey Almond Breve, S’mores Coldpress, Blueberry Cheesecake Latte, Peach Green Tea and Red White & Blue Soda. Also shown in the photo are blue raspberry and peach Italian sodas.

Dairy Queen’s latest limited-time Blizzard flavor release from the “DQ Freezer” is Salted Caramel Truffle.

Changes in hours, service
- Cherry Rock Farms south of Brandon lost most of its plantings to flooding and is replanting what it can, but it will be open from noon to 2 p.m. Friday to sell the produce that it has for now.
- Because of staffing issues, Casa del Rey is no longer open for lunch and is closed on Mondays. New hours are 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
- Gregg’s Substation will be closed on Mondays until further notice with the arrival of the newest member of the family. The casino is still open on Mondays.
- Pinz in Dell Rapids has suspended its Sunday breakfast buffet until September. The plated breakfast menu is available from 8 to 11 a.m., and lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- The kitchen at BB’s Pub is open later now — until 10 p.m. — on Fridays and Saturdays.
- Botski’s Bar & Grill now offers online ordering.
