Restaurant Roundup: Chicken and waffles on pizza, brewery bus tour

Four new featured pizzas are on the menu at Sunny’s Pizzeria: Leggo My Pizza with chicken and waffles; Wonton-amo Bae, a play on jalapeno cream cheese-filled wontons; Bittersweet Symphony with pesto, bacon and blue cheese; and Best Case, Wurst Case with beer brats and mustard.

The Upper Room in Brandon is organizing a brewery tour for Saturday. A $50 fee includes the bus ride and beer on the bus from the three breweries. The tour departs from The Upper Room at 1:30 p.m. and will stop at Obscure Brewing in Sioux Falls; The Combine in Garretson; Take 16 Brewing Co. in Luverne, Minnesota; and A Homestead Brew east of Sioux Falls. It will return to Brandon at 9:30 p.m. Limited tickets are available and can be purchased by clicking here.

Parker’s Bistro has several new seasonal menu items, including prosciutto & melon and crab egg rolls for first plates. There’s a caprese salad, braised beef pappardelle and Walleye Veronique with grapes, shallots, beech mushrooms, sea beans, dry vermouth and cream.

McNally’s Irish Pub has new summer features. Try Dirty Rice With Bronzed Chicken, Berry Crunch Spinach Salad with a blood orange vinaigrette or the Strawberry Tomato Caprese Salad with a balsamic reduction.

The Bunker Bar in Harrisburg has a new pizza provider. It’s now serving a few creations from Sunny’s Pizzeria in Sioux Falls. The business expanded into wholesale offerings last year, starting with Glacial Lakes Distillery & Brewhouse and expanding from there. The bars bake the fresh pizzas on site in just a few minutes.

Tuesday is International Build Your Own Sundae Day, so Oh My Cupcakes is teaming up with Stensland Family Farms to make it even better. A Build Your Own Cupcake Sundae Bar will be offered at both bakery locations. Get a scoop of ice cream, chocolate or vanilla unfrosted cupcake and a choice of toppings for $7. A gluten-friendly option will be available for $7.50. The bakeries open at 8 a.m., and the bar will be open while supplies last.

Bread & Circus Sandwich Kitchen has started serving Stensland Family Farms ice cream. Single-serving sizes are available in four flavors with rotating choices.

Tailgators Grill & Bar in Brandon has new food and drink specials for July. Here’s a look at the menus.

The July tasting menu at Harvester Kitchen by Bryan is called All-American Summer. Flavors include everything from compressed watermelon and warm lobster rolls to swordfish, wagyu, spaghetti, summer squash and cherry pie, which is shown below.

Kingbird Coffee in Brandon is featuring its Burger Battle creation from January again this month. The Phoenix is a seasoned patty with Swiss cheese, spring mix, tomatoes, onions, pickles, cheddar pepper cream cheese and “boom boom” sauce on an Amigo bagel from Black Hills Bagels.

Carnaval Brazilian Grill’s featured rodizio meat for the third quarter of the year is smoked bourbon whiskey brisket.

Oh My Cupcakes is helping raise money for the Children’s Home Shelter for Family Safety with a special package of cupcakes. Thirty percent of proceeds from each dozen sold will go toward the fight against domestic violence in the community. The cupcakes are customers’ all-time favorites: Pleasantville, Lemon Drop, Party Animal, Triple Chocolate, The Marilyn and Chocolate Peanut Butter Attack. They’re available through July 15.

Dunn Brothers Coffee, which has locations on the east and west sides of Sioux Falls, has new flavors for summer: Lemon Meringue Red Bull Infusion, Honey Tajin Green Tea Lemonade, Berries & Cream Red Bull Infusion and Shaken Blackberry & Caramel Iced Nirvana.

Changes in hours, service

  • Kaladi’s Bistro will be closed Monday and Tuesday for remodeling.
  • Oh My Cupcakes has changed its hours for summer to 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
  • Covert Artisan Ales & Cellars has reduced hours for Sundays: 2 to 6 p.m.
  • Brandon Steakhouse is closed through Monday and will be closed July 14-24 and Aug. 4-6.
