Here’s a look at recent changes in the business landscape in the Sioux Falls area.
C&B Operations has moved from 5220 S. Grand Circle to 2913 W. Russell St. It sells mowers and compact construction equipment to businesses such as commercial landscapers, utility contractors and dirt work contractors in addition to acreage owners. The new location includes a shop and warehouse.
The owners of Inca Mexican Restaurant have opened an adjacent bar, which features a full liquor license. Inca Bar is in a space to the north of the longtime restaurant at 3312 S. Holly Ave., with a new interior doorway connecting the two. There’s also a separate entrance door. Customers can order from the restaurant’s full food and drink menus, and there’s also a featured menu of appetizers, quesadillas and wings and a signature cocktail menu. Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers has started work for its first location in Sioux Falls. The fast-casual national chain has demolished the former David’s Bridal building at 4004 W. 41st St. The restaurant is expected to open later this year or early next year.
Sioux Falls-based A&B Business Solutions has acquired an ownership stake in an Oklahoma-based provider of office technology and workplace services. A&B now owns 50 percent of multigenerational family business JD Young Technologies. Existing relationships, contracts and service teams will remain the same and now will be backed by expanded support, shared expertise and enhanced resources, the businesses said.
Juniper Apothecary will move from its 8th & Railroad Center location to 2019 S. Minnesota Ave., the former Spoke-N-Sport building, after remodeling is completed in late June. It will have more room to make its expanded line of bath and body products and bulk herbs for making teas. Owners Joshua and Brittany Sopko are adding Moss & Mugg, a coffee and herbal tea bar.
Von Rae Salon Suites has opened at 3416 S. Minnesota Ave. It offers 21 suites that can be leased by beauty-industry professionals, and more than half are filled already.
The restaurant Over Easy has set its opening date for June 6. The franchised location will serve breakfast and lunch in a new retail center at 5722 E. 18th St. in Dawley Farm Village.
The city of Sioux Falls has started building a fire station in northwest Sioux Falls. Fire Station 13 will be at 5200 N. Career Ave. It also will include work areas for Sioux Falls Fire Rescue inspectors and officials with the city Planning and Development Services Department. The fire station is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2027.
Boss’ Pizza & Chicken at 5330 W. 26th St. has reopened under new ownership. Mike and Sandra Shelburg are the new owner-operators of the franchised location that offers delivery and carryout. It’s open from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m. daily, and the plan is to expand with lunch hours. Boss’ offers a large menu of traditional and specialty pizzas, broasted chicken, pastas and sandwiches.
Heirloom Creations has moved its three locations into one building at 5220 S. Grand Circle, which is along Louise Avenue just north of Interstate 229. The locally owned business provides sales and service for sewing machines and offers classes. With the move, it’s expanding its fabric offerings beyond quilting materials. Heirloom Creations, which is open daily, will celebrate its grand opening the week of June 1.
Kitchen Tune-Up Sioux Falls has a new franchise owner, Calvin Beachy. The business offers services such as full kitchen remodels, one-day wood restoration, custom cabinets and cabinet redooring, refacing and painting. It serves Sioux Falls and surrounding communities.
