The franchise owner of Cookie Co. is closing the bakery later this month.

“It’s not what we wanted,” said Sarah Storm, who opened the gourmet cookie shop at 6004 S. Cliff Ave. in February 2023. “It was out of our control. … At a corporate level, it just was not working out.”

She did not want to elaborate.

Cookie Co. was founded in 2020 in California and has 19 locations, according to its website. The bakery’s menu changes every week with four rotating or new flavors. Chocolate chip and monster cookies are available all the time.

The final day in Sioux Falls will be April 27.

“Our customers have been amazing,” Storm said. “Sioux Falls is just such a good city for businesses. People want to support them, especially when they know it’s locally owned.”

Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday but might change the final week depending on inventory, she said.

“We probably will have some one-off flavors over the next few weeks to use up ingredients,” Storm said, noting that those cookies will be featured on social media.
