DSU president named among world’s most influential women in AI

Dakota State University President José-Marie Griffiths has been named to a list of the world’s most influential women in artificial intelligence.

The InspiredMinds community’s top 50 most influential list includes women representing businesses, government agencies and academia.

InspiredMinds, based in London, is a global tech and science strategy group focused on AI4Good, operating in health care, education, STEM and government/strategic level artificial intelligence.

According to its website, “We are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and our ‘why’ is to ensure that emerging technology is inclusive, equitable and safe.”

The organization’s events include World Summit AI conferences and AI training courses and resources.

Griffiths was a panelist at the World Summit AI Americas 2022 conference in May.

Some of the other women on the list are Joelle Pineau, director of Meta AI Research Labs; Cassie Kozyrkov, chief decision scientist at Google; Vandi Verma, chief engineer perseverance robotic operations at the NASA Jet Propulsion Lab; Allison Gardner, senior scientific adviser at NICE; Micky Adriaansens, minister of economic affairs and climate policy of the Netherlands; and Irina Rish, full professor at the University of Montreal and Mila – Quebec AI Institute.
