If you were planning to have lunch this week at The Cookie Jar Eatery, you’ll have to wait.

Owners Glen and Elaine Koch have closed the cafe for lunch through Friday to help Glen rest after his fourth bout of pneumonia in two years.

They’re still taking orders for cookies and other items online or by calling 605-978-0991.

“He can work for a little while, and then he has to rest,” Elaine said. “We thought it would be better not to push him.”

The cafe in Shriver Square at 11th and Phillips is usually open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays.
