Create-your-own pizza restaurant returning to PizzaRev space

Customer demand for another create-your-own pizza restaurant near The Empire Mall is about to be met.

Invictus Pizza plans to open in the former PizzaRev space at 3901 W. 49th St.

PizzaRev, a national chain, announced it was closing for lack of staff in 2021 and confirmed last year that it would not reopen.

Local owners are bringing the new concept to the space and plan to open it early next month, said Ron Nelson of Nelson Commercial Real Estate, who brokered the deal.

“It is amazing how the groundswell of support for reopening PizzaRev grew after they closed,” he said.

“This group thought where can you find a move-in ready location that had a very well-established customer traffic pattern, and the public was clamoring for them to come back.”

The menu for Invictus will be centered around create-your-own pizzas, with several crust options and some chef-created pizzas, calzones, salads and desserts.

“There were challenges with the name as PizzaRev as a national franchise is not really opening new stores, so rather than fight that battle, they will instead be bringing a better version than was even there before and calling it Invictus,” Nelson said.
