This week’s Up-and-Comer is Dajana Cicvara, district manager for Silverstar Car Wash.
Name: Dajana Cicvara
Age: 29
What brought you to Sioux Falls?
My family and I relocated to Sioux Falls as refugees during the Yugoslav war. My parents made the difficult decision to leave behind their family, friends and home in search of a safer environment for my sister and me. Their goal was to provide us with a secure community and a fresh start.
What keeps you in Sioux Falls?
The strong connections I have with my family, friends and colleagues are what keep me in Sioux Falls. The sense of community and support here is truly invaluable.
What is your favorite aspect of your role?
I greatly value the positive culture we have cultivated within our team. The mutual support and camaraderie among colleagues make each day rewarding. I find great satisfaction in collaborating with my team and contributing to our shared success.
How did you become involved in your industry?
I sought a new challenge and was drawn to the dynamic and rapidly evolving field of car wash management. The industry’s fast-paced nature intrigued me, and I have found it to be an exciting and fulfilling journey working alongside exceptional professionals.
How would you describe your workplace in three words?
Engaging, dynamic, supportive.
Is there something about you that might surprise others?
In my leisure time, I enjoy riding my motorcycle.
What is your preferred way to contribute to your community?
I am passionate about volunteering and raising awareness for causes I care about. Recently, I participated in the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk, driven by personal connections to heart disease. Additionally, I am involved in the Haunted Car Wash at Silverstar, where I create artwork and collaborate with my team to support Feeding South Dakota, providing both a fun experience and community benefit.
What business would you like to see in Sioux Falls that is not currently present?
I would love to see a Dunkin’ Donuts in Sioux Falls.
If you had $1 million to invest in a business, what type would it be?
I would invest in establishing an animal shelter and training center. My vision is to provide animals with a second chance at life by matching them with suitable owners and to offer training services to help new pet owners effectively care for and train their animals.
