Restaurant Roundup: Breakfast for lunch, walleye sandwich, pasta battle
Jan. 8, 2026
The downtown location of Shenanigans Sports Bar & Grill has made a few menu changes. It’s no longer open earlier on the weekends with its EggSmack menu, but it has added “breakfast for lunch” options with some of the EggSmack favorites and the new Country Farm Sandwich. Those items are available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the weekend. The west-side Shenanigans still serves the EggSmack menu, but that will change soon to a menu that’s similar to the downtown restaurant, general manager Andy Rose said.

New entrees at the downtown Shenanigans include a 14-ounce, hand-cut rib eye with the restaurant’s signature house seasoning blend. There’s also Chicken Chislic, which is chunks of chicken grilled with peppers and onions. The new wing platter features eight traditional or boneless wings with a choice of wing sauce. All entrees are served with a choice of potato and veggies or a house salad.

Breadsmith is teaming up again with Remedy Brewing Co. for Spent Grain Bread. The bread is made with spent grain from Remedy’s brewing process and its Milk Stout beer. It’s available only on Fridays in January.

Roundhouse Brew Pub has a new featured menu.

R Wine Bar & Kitchen and Maribella Ristorante are in the midst of their annual competition instead of joining in the Downtown Burger Battle. The 2026 Pasta Battle: Sous Chef Edition is taking votes from customers through January. R Wine Bar is featuring Tonkatsu Ramen with rice noodles in pork broth topped with pork belly, shrimp, corn, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, nori and ajitama, which is a savory egg.

Maribella is serving The Cristiano, which is beet root pasta with a naked sauce, peppers, onions, Italian sausage and scallops. It’s topped with Parmesan cheese and a beet root powder dusting.

M.B. Haskett Delicatessen has a new featured dinner menu.

The lucy of the month at Crooked Pint Ale House is the Crooked Popper. The patty is stuffed with cream cheese, chopped bacon, American cheese and jalapenos. It’s topped with more jalapenos, cholua mayo, Monterey Jack cheese and haystack onions and is served on an egg bun with waffle fries for $12.

Remedy Brewing Co. has trimmed the Simply Sauced menu it introduced in December to accommodate the craziness of the Downtown Burger Battle. Also available, though, are five flatbreads, six appetizers and boneless wings.
