Burger King, Cinnabon close at The Empire Mall

Jan. 7, 2025

There are two fewer restaurant options on the campus of The Empire Mall to start the year.

Cinnabon has closed inside the food court. It opened in 2020, marking a return after being gone for several years.

Burger King’s final day was Jan. 3 at 4900 W. Empire Place, which is along Louise Avenue between the new 7 Brew Coffee and Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers.

A sign posted on the drive-thru reads: “Dear valued customers, we regret to inform you that we will be closing our doors permanently on Jan. 3 at 10 p.m. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to you for your support over the past 20-plus years. It’s been a privilege to serve this community.”

The next closest location is at 2501 W. 41st St.

At one time, Burger King also had a space in the mall food court, but it closed a decade ago.
