New private studio space on west side offers cold plunge, sauna, contrast therapy

A new wellness business in Sioux Falls is pairing the power of hot and cold.

Reset Sauna and Cold Plunge Studio, tucked inside Dimensions Salon & Spa at 1900 S. Sertoma Ave., looks to meet the growing consumer demand for recovery-focused experiences.

Owner and founder Brooke Schultz works full time inside Dimensions and thought a vacant studio there would be the perfect spot.

“I started cold plunging a while ago with a tub in my own garage,” Schultz said.

Schultz is an avid fitness enthusiast and struggled with anxiety, sleep, soreness and inflammation. She quickly discovered the benefits of both a cold plunge and a sauna and wanted to offer a dedicated space to detox for clients in Sioux Falls.

“There is nothing like it here where you’d have your own space,” she explained. “We wanted to make it really nice and intimate and put a special focus on recovery, healing and relaxation.”

In addition, she said studies have shown that the therapy speeds up muscle recovery, lowers inflammation, balances the nervous system and helps flush out lactic acid.

It’s not just any cold plunge tub.

Schultz is proud to offer one of the most high-end luxury brands, Blue Cube, which, she said, takes the client experience to the next level.

As she explains, through a three-speed hydro jet, water around you is circulating continuously so you reap the benefits rather than sitting in still water while your body protects you – and warms the water – with a small layer of heat.

“This way, you’re getting the true, full effect and benefit of a cold plunge,” she said.

Between plungers, there’s no need for any chemicals because, Schultz said, the tub’s system allows for state-of-the-art filtration, trapping dirt and debris.

“I want each client to detox in the sauna, get into the clean tub and enjoy everything the space has to offer.”

Each client can book anywhere from a single 15-minute cold plunge up to a contrast session for 30 or 60 minutes to alternate between the cold plunge and the infrared sauna.

Schultz said studies show that up to 11 minutes in a cold plunge per week is all it takes to get the full benefits.

Cold plunging generally is safe for most individuals of all ages and abilities but should be avoided or done with caution with any extreme medical conditions, she said. Schultz encourages potential clients to talk to their doctor before starting a new routine like this.

“It’s so calming, and you truly are coming in to reset your entire body and mind.”
