Giving Back for November
Nov. 28, 2025
Giving Back recognizes businesses and organizations that are helping our communities. Here’s a look at who gave back for November.
Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation
The Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation has announced its latest round of Community Fund grants, totaling almost $70,000 in support for local nonprofits and causes throughout the area. Grants were awarded to Black Hills Special Services Cooperative, East River Legal Services, Junior Achievement of South Dakota, Rainbow Chorus and Translators of Cultures. Community Fund grants are made possible by the Community Fund Endowment, supported by unrestricted gifts. For details on the projects and grants, visit sfacf.org/news/community-fund-november-2025.
The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust
Staff members from The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust’s Sioux Falls-based Rural Healthcare Program volunteered at Midwest Street Medicine’s office on Nov. 19, helping set up storage racks for supplies, assemble care packages and sort winter clothing that will be distributed to individuals experiencing homelessness. The trust also granted $15,000 to the organization to support its mission to provide compassionate, low-barrier health care to people experiencing homelessness and housing instability.

Sioux Council, Scouting America
The Sioux Council of Scouting America’s annual Merit Badge College on Nov. 15 at Southeast Technical College included a food drive for Southeast Tech students. Participants were encouraged to bring shelf-stable items and personal care products.
