It’s the perfect time of year for freshly harvested produce that goes from the plant to your plate — and Grille 26 has featured dishes to match.
Late-summer menu items include several ways to enjoy the harvest.
Greek salad
Enjoy a blend of red onions, tomatoes, English cucumbers, green peppers, Kalamata olives, oregano and feta cheese, with a red wine and olive oil dressing.
“It’s refreshing,” said Ken Bashore, CEO of Grille 26 owner Vanguard Hospitality. You’ll feel good after eating it. All our vegetables are coming in fresh now, so we’re right at the sweet spot for produce. It’s super-clean eating, and it’s the right time to eat that salad.”
Beer-battered fish tacos
Three Modelo-battered cod tacos are served on locally made Hernandez corn tortillas, topped with homemade coleslaw, fresh jalapenos, cilantro and sriracha aioli.
“We’ve been selling a ton of them — probably 100 per week — so it’s a good choice,” Bashore said. “They’re battered in a Mexican lager, and we’ve been getting in cod two times a week for this, so it’s become a really popular dish.”
Steak fajitas
It’s a classic — with a local twist. Marinated grilled flank steak is served with grilled peppers, onions and rosemary potatoes. Enjoy them with sour cream, pico de gallo, homemade salsa and Hernandez corn tortillas.
“The tortillas are locally made, and they are my favorite,” Bashore said. “And the vegetables in this dish are super-fresh, too, right now.”
Margherita pizza
This guest favorite joins the Grille 26 pizza lineup, offering marinara, roma tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil — again, fresh from the growers.
Key lime pie
The classic homemade key lime pie diners love at Minervas in downtown Sioux Falls now is on the menu at Grille 26.
“It has meringue that is ridiculously good,” Bashore said. “We’re hoping to have it permanently, but this menu itself will be here for about three more weeks.”
Back-to-school time-saver
Struggling to juggle this back-to-school season? Let Grille 26 take care of dinner.
Family-style to-go meals serve four to five people and include popular Grille 26 entrees, salads, appetizers and desserts.
“The mac-and-cheese is a huge hit with families, and we sell a ton of steak and chicken teriyaki stir-fry,” Bashore said. “I had 15 chicken stir-fry family meals go out the other day.”
