Home cooks and grill masters: This is for you.

You now can take home ground beef from Hadrick Ranch with a simple trip to Grille 26.

“Customers slowly have been discovering it, and once they do, they tend to come back for more,” Vanguard Hospitality CEO Ken Bashore said. “It’s a really exceptional product.”

Greg Hintgen agreed.

He has been cooking with ground beef from Faulkton-based Hadrick Ranch since last fall.

“It’s exceptionally flavorful,” he said. “When you cook it at home, it actually smells like steak. My kids literally run down the stairs asking what I’m cooking because it smells so good.”

He uses the meat for taco night and lately has been making smashburgers on the grill.

“The flavor is just off the charts. It’s that good,” Hintgen said.

“I’ll 100 percent buy it again. The quality is really good: I know where it’s coming from, I know the producer, and I know I’m supporting a South Dakota family. The more I can buy locally, the better because it adds to all of our food security.”

He has had a chance to meet ranch co-owner Troy Hadrick, whose beef also is on the menu at Grille 26 and Minervas in downtown Sioux Falls.

“He’s super-nice, just a multigeneration farm family in South Dakota,” Hintgen said. “And it’s interesting because his kids are going to SDSU to study the science of agriculture and just improve it even more, so it’s a pretty neat story.”

Grille 26 sells 1.5 pounds of Hadrick Ranch ground beef for $8.

“It’s great for a holiday weekend,” Bashore said. “We’re closed July 4 so our team can celebrate with family, so we encourage you to take this home and enjoy it on the grill.”
