In-demand dining can be yours if you follow this advice

It’s not an easy time of year to snag a table at Morrie’s Steakhouse, but we can help.

While Morrie’s is an ideal place for holiday celebrations – and space fills up fast – there generally will be a seat for you if you follow these tips.

First, embrace the reservation.

Yes, it requires a bit of planning, but it definitely pays off with minimal waiting and a guaranteed seat awaiting you.

Here’s what you need to know, though. For the best results: When you reach for your phone, don’t call.

“Instead, pull up our website or the Open Table app,” suggested manager Nick McNab.

“We end up getting a ton of voicemails, and by the time we retrieve them and call back, often someone on Open Table has reserved the time our caller wanted. For the easiest experience, just go online and you’ll find it’s a very easy process to make a reservation.”

Visit morriessteakhouse.com and you’ll easily be able to browse available reservation times. It’s integrated with opentable.com and the Open Table app, so you can make the same reservation there. If your time isn’t available at Morrie’s, you can easily try other Vanguard Hospitality restaurants through Open Table.

Plus, your reservation can include special requests.

“People in other cities who visit us and people who travel for business are familiar with Open Table, but many locals aren’t, so we want to make sure they know they can find us there,” McNab said.

Another tip: Dine early.

“Generally, if you arrive between 5 and 6 p.m. on a weekday, we can easily accommodate your party,” McNab said. “And if you’re flexible with where you sit, you’ll find we generally can provide more options no matter which time you arrive. Many of our guests also enjoy dining in the lounge or even at the bar.”

Event scheduling

Most dates for holiday events at Morrie’s Steakhouse are full.

But if your corporate gathering is still not on a calendar, reach out anyway, McNab said.

“We stay busy through January, but we have quite a few more dates open,” he said. “So if you couldn’t get your holiday party done, quite a few people do them in January, and we have plenty of available dates.”

You can even come in early for a private lunch, request your own menu – one corporate group had quail eggs cooked on Himalayan salt blocks – or reserve a private room with audio-visual equipment for presentations while you dine.

“We’re grateful the community has again supported us so well at Morrie’s Steakhouse this year,” McNab said. “We truly look forward to serving you again in 2020 and have some exciting new additions we look forward to sharing with you.”
