Here’s a look at recent changes in the business landscape in the Sioux Falls area.

Rosie’s Cafe is for sale, and the owner is opening another cafe in Chester. Beckie Mettler said she will open Rosie’s Farmhouse probably in May. Mettler purchased the building and equipment of Old Farmhouse Cafe, said Jason Shaw, who owned the Chester cafe with his wife, Jess. Their final day was Feb. 27, but they will continue their catering service and food truck, The Lunchbox. Rosie’s Cafe remains open for now at 2202 W. Madison St., where it has served diners for 41 years.

Railbirds OTB, an off-track betting parlor, has opened at 2310 S. Marion Road. It’s connected to Railbirds Sports Bar, formerly known as The SandBar & Grill. Railbirds OTB features betting on horse, harness and dog races. The off-track betting area is served by the restaurant’s kitchen and has its own bar. Railbirds OTB is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Dog trainer Madison Rietz has launched The Barket, an online shop featuring products for dogs such as treats, chews, supplements and toys. Rietz focuses on offering high-quality products from other small businesses and delivers orders every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The Centerville Steakhouse reopened recently under new ownership and with a new name: Tuffy’s Bar and Grill. Tuffy’s offers family dining with a sports bar atmosphere. It’s open for dinner Monday, Thursday and Friday and for lunch and dinner Saturday and Sunday.

Bob’s Lock & Key has moved from 41st Street to a larger location at 3936 S. Western Ave. The business was founded in 1968 and offers residential, commercial and automotive services in the tri-state area.

Sports bar 212 The Boiling Point in Brandon has closed. Owner Kyle Thill said he had been trying to sell the business for more than a year. It was founded in 2008 by Mark Fonder, who sold it to Thill in 2019.

Circle K held ribbon cuttings during the last week of March for three convenience stores in Sioux Falls: 8501 W. 32nd St., 1301 E. 69th St. and 5400 N. Cliff Ave. Additional locations are coming. The company has submitted building plans for C-stores at 5601 E. 57th St. and 4811 E. Arrowhead Parkway.

Annie’s Coffee Bar & Roastery has moved from Garretson to Brandon. The new location is at 721 N. Splitrock Blvd. In addition to a full espresso bar, which features coffee beans that owner Anne Pedersen roasts, Annie’s serves baked goods for breakfast and sandwiches, wraps and salads for lunch. It’s open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, along with a “kid-free” evening from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday and a Sunday brunch once a month that doesn’t follow a set schedule.

Nyberg’s Ace has expanded to add repair and improvement services for homes and businesses. Nyberg’s Ace Handyman Services covers Sioux Falls and the surrounding areas.
