Restaurant Roundup: New brunch additions, new lunch spot, features

The weekend Dinner in Dublin Brunch at Blarney Stone Pub has a few new menu options and the bloody mary and mimosa bar is back. Menu additions include Bangers & Hash, Chicken & Waffle Fries and Griddlecakes & Eggs. A trip through the bloody mary and mimosa bar is $5 with the purchase of a breakfast entree. Bottomless mimosas are available now for $12 with the purchase of a breakfast entrée. Brunch is served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The Liebrary has started serving lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays. For a quick option, the bar is featuring “I’ll be there in 5 minutes” salads and soups. There are sandwiches like a BLT and chicken Caesar wrap, burgers and baskets with options like chislic and chicken strips that come with a choice of side.


The new Boston’s Pizza in the Ramada Waterpark has a $12 Lunch Lineup. Get a half-sandwich or Indy pizza, a side and a drink.

Invictus Pizza Kitchen has added a new menu item for lunch. The Invictus Piadina is the quick-serve restaurant’s housemade pizza dough folded into a sandwich with three options for fillings: Bacon Chicken Ranch, Classic BLT and Greek Salad.

Sunny’s Pizzeria has four new featured pizzas: Muffa-Likey with pepperoni, hot giardiniera mix and more; Master Splinter with ham, chicken, bacon, mozzarella and a collaboration of sweet chili, honey barbecue and sriracha sauces; The Parmesan Don with chicken, garlic Parmesan sauce and more; and The Sconnie with beer brats, bacon, cream cheese/honey barbecue, cheddar, pepper jack, green peppers, banana peppers, onions and a hot honey drizzle.

Fiero Pizza isn’t part of the Downtown Pork Showdown, but it is featuring pulled pork on two pizzas for a limited time. The Porkiepine has olive oil, mozzarella, pulled pork, pineapple and a barbecue drizzle. The Porkout is barbecue sauce, mozzarella, pulled pork, bacon, red onion and jalapeno.

Pizzashop will donate 100 percent of sales and tips to the 343rd Recruiting Squadron Booster Club from its third annual fundraiser in commemoration of the 9/11 attacks. The restaurant at 4104 W. 41st St. will serve slices of breakfast pizza from 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday for the fundraiser. Employees who will be working then are donating their time.

Verde Lounge in the Holiday Inn City Centre has new weekly specials for lunch, dinner and happy hour.

Friday is the final day for Central Dakota Perk in Tea until it can find a new location for the coffee kiosk. The coffee shop opened in a parking lot three years ago, but the site is no longer available. The Harrisburg location remains open and gift cards can be used there until a Tea site reopens. New chef specials have arrived at Crave American Kitchen & Sushi Bar. Available for lunch and dinner are Crab Rangoons and Beef & Vegetable Skewers. Lunch-only items are the Strawberry Salad and Italian Chopped Sandwich. For dinner, there’s a Strawberry Starter Salad and Seared Halibut. Dessert is S’mores Brownie.

Fall menu items have been added at Daily Clean Food & Drink. The Half-Baked Harvest Bowl is back with brussels sprouts, butternut squash, pecans, apples, craisins and housemade pumpkin goddess dressing. Add protein if you like. For drinks, there’s a new pumpkin cold foam cold brew and returning favorites the pumpkin apple pie smoothie and pumpkin spice latte. For dessert, there are pumpkin chocolate chip bars.

Gateway Bar & Grill has a new special this month: The Holiday Burger. It’s a 6-ounce patty infused with seasoning and stuffed with bacon bits and cheddar cheese, and is served with waffle fries.

The lucy of the month at Crooked Pint Ale House is the Hound Dog. It’s stuffed with peanut butter and topped with more peanut butter, lettuce and bacon.

The Cattitude Cafe has a new specials menu with gazpacho, chicken basil pasta salad and a seasonal Charspookerie Board.

Fall-inspired drinks have arrived at Josiah’s Coffeehouse, Cafe & Bakery. The Banana Nut Muffin London Fog uses tea from the nearby shop The Spice & Tea Exchange.

The pancake of the month at IHOP is an easy guess with a twist: Maple Pumpkin Cheesecake.

Changes in hours, service
- Gregg’s Substation is open again on Mondays.
- Windy City Bites has new hours: 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, 3 to 11 p.m. Thursday, 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday. Happy hour is available each day from 3 to 6 p.m. with two-for-one draft beers and half-price on second drinks for everything else.
- Songbird Kombucha has new hours and new specials. It’s open 3 to 6 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays. Students and teachers get a 20 percent discount on Thursdays. Everyone gets a 10 percent discount on cans and 15 percent off growler fills on Fridays.
- CNC Food Factory in Avera McKennan Fitness Center has returned to regular hours: 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. to noon Saturdays.
- El Chamoy has new hours: noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
- The managers of the Office Bar in Montrose did not renew their lease with the city and have closed it.
