A new campus for the full-service water storage tank construction and maintenance company broke ground last September.

“This new campus is an industry-changing project,” CEO Gene Jones Jr. said. “There hasn’t been an investment like this in the water tank industry in decades.”

The new Maguire Iron campus will be north of Interstate 90 between Interstate 229 and Cliff Avenue and is scheduled to be complete in early 2024.

“It is really exciting,” president Scott Jones said. “The campus consists of three buildings that include offices, manufacturing and maintenance. We will even have our own water tower that we will use to help train our team members.”

The investment in the state-of-the-art campus is part of a new strategic plan that the company rolled out in 2022. The strategic plan focuses on four key areas:

  • Brand leadership
  • Operational excellence
  • Quality of life
  • Financial success

“This new campus is a move into the future for us,” Scott Jones said. “When we began designing the new campus, we were focused on three main areas: innovation, quality and employee comfort. All of these initiatives fit perfectly with our strategic plan.”

With the new campus come new systems, technologies and innovations that will continue to make Maguire a leader in the industry.

“Our team has done an amazing job researching new equipment, testing new technology and making plans to deliver the best water tank construction and maintenance services for our customers,” Scott Jones said.

Funding from the American Rescue Plan Act along with other federal and state funding for water infrastructure is helping drive growth at Maguire.

“Water is one of the earth’s most precious resources,” Gene Jones Jr. said. “As water tank infrastructure ages, it needs to be maintained or replaced. In areas where the population is growing, there is a need for new water tanks to add additional storage capacity.”

For more than 100 years, Maguire has been an industry leader in the construction and maintenance of water storage tanks. In 2022, the company completed a record nearly 200 projects for water tank owners across the country. This year is beginning with the largest pipeline of work in the company’s history.

“Our team did an amazing job in 2022, and we are excited about the work we have ahead of us in 2023,” Scott Jones said. “We have the right team members in place to deliver great projects for our customers while providing the best customer experience in the industry.”

As the company grows, the focus is not simply on adding team members but also becoming an employer of choice in the communities it serves. To lead the effort, Maguire is looking to hire a chief culture officer.

“This is a new position for us at Maguire,” Gene Jones Jr. said. “At Maguire, we believe in helping our team members flourish both personally and professionally. This high-level leadership position will be an integral part of our team as they help lead our culture into the future.”
