Smallcakes partners with cheesecake business at Lake Lorraine

Oct. 9, 2019

The Smallcakes Cupcakery & Creamery location at Lake Lorraine is adding cheesecake.

Owner Dani Nordhagen is partnering with Tiffany Taylor, who is launching her business CheeseCakez & More to combine the two in the space on Marion Road on the west edge of the Lake Lorraine development.

Taylor is a stay-at-home mom of four who wanted to start a business. She thought about subleasing the Smallcakes space herself, but once she met Nordhagen, they decided to share it.

“I’ve just been doing it for friends and family, and everybody says I should do it for real,” Taylor said.

She plans to offer 25 flavors of cheesecake to start, from classics to supreme creations such as white chocolate blueberry truffle. Cheesecakes will be sold in 8-, 10- and 12-inch sizes.

“We’ll have some available during the day, but a lot will be custom orders,” Taylor said. “And I’ll have some minis there, where they can buy a dozen, half-dozen or four-pack.”

She also plans to sell a popular cheesecake dip and potentially add other baked items.

The plan is to begin offering products from CheeseCakez & More the week of Oct. 21, which also is when Smallcakes plans to open its new downtown location at 317 S. Phillips Ave. The cheesecakes will be sold only at Lake Lorraine.

CheeseCakez & More is in the process of setting up a website, so customers will be able to order online.
