SafeSplash Swim School is expanding to the east side of Sioux Falls.

Franchisees Dan and Christa Sobocinski have leased a location at Dawley Farm Village three years after opening in a retail center at 85th Street and Minnesota Avenue.

“Three years of growth at our south Sioux Falls location has proven the concept of swimming lessons in a retail setting” Dan Sobocinski said.

“Customers really like the SafeSplash model of flexible schedules, progressive swim curriculum taught by certified instructors, a 90-degree warm water environment, and small student-to-teacher ratios of 4-to-1 or less that delivers individualized attention.”

Expanding to the east side allows SafeSplash to offer its programming, which also includes swim camps and parties, to growing neighborhoods and surrounding communities such as Brandon, he said.

The approximately 4,300-square-foot space will be in the northernmost retail center known as Dawley Apex, which includes Jersey Mike’s Subs.

“Veterans Parkway was a selling point,” Sobocinski said. “Being located in this development puts us at the crossroads of the fast-growing east side.”

The location is slightly bigger than the south-side SafeSplash, allowing extra space for the pool. There will be similar amenities with a freshened-up design and layout, he said.

The Dawley Farm Village location is expected to open near the end of the year.

We’re really excited to welcome Safe Splash to Dawley Apex Retail,” said Ryan Tysdal of VanBuskirk Cos., who brokered the deal. “They’re a great fit with the family-friendly lineup of retailers we have already.”

The lease means only one 1,907-square-foot space is left in the Apex retail center, he added.

“We are currently negotiating deals with several additional retail tenants at listings I have at Dawley,”  Tysdal said.

“Like SafeSplash, many business owners are seeing the opportunity along Veteran’s Parkway on the eastside.”
