Restaurant Roundup: Limited-time features, Stensland boozy shakes, Crumbl expanded menu

The Fry’n Pan on East 10th Street is celebrating 50 years in business with a $2 breakfast special from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Stensland Family Farms has added boozy floats and shakes for adults. Flavors include Mudslide, Buttered Rum, Margarita, Pina Colada, White Chocolate Raspberry, Cookies & Cream and more. They’re available from 4 p.m. to close Tuesday through Saturday at the retail store at 3101 W. 41st St. They’re made with a wine-based alcohol in flavors like rum and tequila.

Crumbl Cookies has added desserts to its rotating menu. Up for the first week: Berry Trifle Cake Cup. It’s described as “layers of light vanilla cake, vanilla pudding and house-made mixed berry jam served in a cup.”

49th Street Liquor has started hosting a food truck night on Wednesdays. The trucks will be set up in the parking lot of the new business at 49th and Minnesota. The inaugural gathering featured Let Me Be Frank, Fat Guys Burgers & Food and Mary’s Mountain Cookies. Hours will be 5 to 8 p.m.

Five new entrees and gelato have been added to the menu at Maribella Ristorante. Spaghetti e Vongole features fresh clams, Salmone e Bruschetta is pan-seared salmon with gnocchi, and Bianca is a pasta dish with a lemon garlic cream sauce. There’s also Genovese pizza and Polpette Pomodoro meatballs. Gelato flavors for now are vanilla, which is gluten-free, and hazelnut.

Remedy Brewing Co. is throwing a party Saturday to celebrate its seventh anniversary. There will be live music from 1 to 10 p.m., a special food menu and, of course, favorite Remedy brews.

While you can order from the entire menu on the patio at Johnny Carino’s, there are new food and drink menus that are exclusive to dining outside.


To celebrate the Olympics and a challenge, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers has introduced its biggest burger ever. The Gold Medal Burger is “inspired by the weight of a gold medal.” It has three patties, three layers of cheese, Red’s relish, mayo, pickles, onion, lettuce and tomato. Pair it with a Star-Spangled Spritzer with Wild Raspberry syrup and Sprite topped with blue cotton candy.

Gold-foil burritos are back at Chipotle Mexican Grille in honor of the Olympics. Five Team Chipotle athletes also have featured menu items: Anthony Edwards, Sophia Smith, Taylor Fritz, Sara Hughes and Jagger Eaton.

Here’s a budget offering: Subway has new $3 Footlong Dippers. They’re served hot, with meat and cheese rolled in flatbread. Options include Pepperoni & Cheese, Chicken & Cheese and Double Cheese, and they’re served with one of Subway’s 11 signature sauces.

Camille’s Sidewalk Cafe is celebrating National Parents Day with a BOGO special on wraps or sandwiches from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

A customer favorite is back on the menu at McDonald’s: the Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder. It has a Quarter Pounder patty, two slices of American cheese, three half-strips of apple wood-smoked bacon, tomato, lettuce and smoky BLT sauce. There’s also a double-patty option. The featured dessert is a Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry.


Changes in hours and service
Flying Santo Taco Bar is closed “for the time being” and hopes to reopen again, according to a note on its door in the Jones421 Building. Co-owner Doug Sager did not return a message.
