Popular food truck to take over kitchen at Fernson Downtown

Nov. 23, 2021

Fernson Downtown’s loss of its kitchen crew has turned into an opportunity for a food truck.

Murph’s Burgers & Fries will start serving its popular menu Friday at the taproom.

“The menu will definitely grow as we get rolling,” Murph’s said in a post on social media.

“You can enjoy epic beer from Fernson and all your favorites from Murph’s! Indoors, warm and six days a week.”

The taproom is closed Mondays. It opens at 3 p.m. most days but at noon on Saturdays.

After spending several years managing a food truck in Portland, Oregon, Murphy Lundie returned to South Dakota and got Murph’s going late this summer.

The Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef offers a simple menu on the truck, but his burgers are filled with flavor, highlighted by his secret house sauce and signature bacon jam.

Fernson Downtown closed its kitchen temporarily in mid-September because of staffing.
