Ryan Nepodal has joined Interstate Office Products as the controller. Nepodal is a CPA and spent the past five years in assurance at RSM, most recently as an assurance supervisor.

Architect Brad Mitzelfelt previously worked for architectural firms in Indiana and Michigan.

Structural engineer-in-training Korder Cropsey will graduate this month with a master’s degree in civil engineering with a structural focus from South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, where he also earned his undergraduate degree.

Dakota Credit Union Association

Roger Heacock

Roger Heacock, former CEO of Black Hills Federal Credit Union, has been inducted into the Dakota Credit Union Association Hall of Fame. Heacock served the credit union industry for 45 years, retiring earlier this year from Black Hills FCU. A scholarship fund has been established in his name to provide financial assistance for affiliated members to attend the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference or the DakCU Legislative-Regulatory Hike the Hill to promote involvement in the grassroots advocacy process.

From the H.E.A.R.T.

Nancy Scharenbroich, an impaired driving prevention advocate with From the H.E.A.R.T., has won a national award from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Scharenbroich was recognized for her advocacy and commitment to impaired driving prevention through outreach and education in South Dakota. She was one of 15 winners of the NHTSA Public Service Awards.

JLG Architects

Jim Holbeck

JLG Architects has added Jim Holbeck, retired Harrisburg School District superintendent, to its K-12 education architecture studio.  As an educational expert with JLG, Holbeck will work with regional school districts to prioritize and identify education modes and learning strategies and understand their impact on building design. With nearly 40 years of experience in K-12 education – 29 of those as a superintendent – Holbeck has helped plan, design and manage a number of major academic- and safety-focused building projects.

The South Dakota Bankers Association has elected three members to its board of directors.

Nathan Franzen

Nathan Franzen is the president of ag banking at First Dakota National Bank in Yankton. Franzen began his banking career in 1994 and has worked at First Dakota for more than 20 years.

Keith Knuppe is a senior vice president and loan officer for BankNorth in Warner, where he has worked for 19 years.

Pennie Lutz is the president and CEO of Richland State Bank in Bruce, where she has worked for 25 years. She also serves as the bank’s compliance officer. Before joining the bank, she worked as an FDIC examiner out of the Sioux Falls office for almost seven years.

John McGrath

John McGrath, a senior vice president and chief credit officer at First Premier Bank, has been appointed to the board of directors for the South Dakota Bankers Association. He has worked in the industry for 43 years and has been at First Premier since 1994. He is filling a vacant seat through April 30, 2022.
