North Carolina gaming business opens Sioux Falls location
June 2, 2021
North Carolina-based Grover Gaming is getting into the video lottery business with a new Sioux Falls location.
The business, which is primarily a software company, develops electronic games and has more than 250 employees. It’s a multiyear recipient of the Inc. 5000 award of fastest-growing companies, ranking No. 194 in 2020.
“It’s a growing company,” said AJ Tiefenthaler, a Sioux Falls-based business development representative.
“There’s a variety of games – card games, line games, keno games, a lot of the stuff you see in the parlor-type casinos now, near bars and gas stations. … We’re in the process of a rollout of new games we’re going to start beta testing.”
The office is located at 1404 N. C Ave. and includes space for assembling machines.
Since starting operations late last year, Grover has 140 machines statewide in locations such as the Alibi Bar and Grill, Gateway Casino & Lounge, Upper Cut Bar & Grill and Woody’s Pub & Grill.
A ribbon-cutting will be at 4:30 p.m. June 16 and allow visitors to demo the games.
“I think we’ll have a fun ribbon-cutting because of that,” Tiefenthaler said. “A little more entertaining.”
