New owners plan expansion of services for tanning business

They started as partners in a local bar and now co-own a tanning business.
The group of friends that bought The Bunker Bar in Harrisburg are now the owners of Tan on Demand in Sioux Falls.
Business partners Seth North, Spencer Mannes, Kevin Marlow and Nate Russell also are equal partners in Midwest Capital.
Shanna Marlow is serving as chief operating officer for the tanning business at 3024 W. 57th St.
“After working here for a fun part-time job for a few months before the purchase, I couldn’t help but envision more for the business,” she said. “That is when I asked the prior owner if she would be interested in selling. Now, here we are, two months into it. Everything is going great.”
There’s currently one location for the the business, but Marlow recently started offering mobile spray tans for individuals, groups and at events.
This fall, the plan is to expand mobile spray tans to Vermillion with two new staff members who are USD students.
“Expanding to more locations isn’t out of the question as we continue to grow,” Marlow said. “We have added fresh faces to our staff, whom are highly trained in providing our clients not just a custom bronzed glow but who care about the experience while here.”
Private suites are available to rent for service providers, and the space includes a massage therapist, an esthetician and The Sculpt Pod weight-loss and skin-tightening service.
