The founder and CEO of Sioux Falls-based Silencer Central, Brandon Maddox, has been awarded the National Rifle Association’s Pioneer Award. The award spotlights the exemplary accomplishments and cumulative body of work of individuals responsible for the development and introduction of equipment that has revolutionized the industry and strongly impacted shooting and hunting. Under Maddox’s leadership, Silencer Central has introduced groundbreaking products and services that have redefined industry standards. Their innovative business model allows customers to purchase firearm suppressors online and have them shipped to their front door once approved. The award will be presented in May at the NRA’s annual meeting in Dallas.

  • Build South Dakota Category 1, projects of less than $2.5 million: SFC Civil Constructors of Sioux Falls for the Day County box culvert project in Waubay. The business chose Make-A-Wish South Dakota to receive a $500 donation from the AGC of South Dakota.
  • Build South Dakota Category 2, projects of $2.5 million to $10 million: Morris Inc. of Pierre for the Capitol Lake dredging project in Pierre. The business chose the Boys & Girls Club of the Capital Area to receive a $500 donation from the AGC of South Dakota.
  • Golden Hard Hat Award: Jim Soukup of Soukup Construction, Sioux Falls.
  • Safety Award for Company Growth in Safety: Tessiers Inc., Sioux Falls.
  • 50-Year Continuous Membership awards: Asphalt Surfacing, Sioux Falls; and Swingen Construction, Grand Forks, North Dakota.
  • 40-Year Continuous Membership awards: Bituminous Paving, Odessa, Minnesota; D&G Concrete Construction, Sioux Falls; Dixon Bros., Newcastle, Wyoming; Loiseau Construction, Flandreau; and Opperman Inc., Gregory.
