Mother of 6, health advocate, business owner creates nontoxic skin care
Dec. 3, 2025
Amie Delgado started A. Delgado & Co. four years ago with a simple mission: to provide safe, effective skin care solutions for local families.
“With a deep commitment to limiting toxins in my own family’s life, I wanted to create products that reflect my belief in God-given health, that our bodies were intentionally designed and that nature holds real tools for healing,” Delgado said.
She’s selling her products at the 605 Made Holiday Market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Cherapa Place in downtown Sioux Falls.
Delgado said she has always been fascinated by how bodies work and in awe of the intentionality behind human design.
“I’ve never loved the idea of putting toxins or synthetic ingredients on our largest organ, our skin, and pretending it won’t have an effect,” she explained.
“I still remember when essential oils became popular. I’m naturally a skeptic and assumed it was mostly hype. Then I burned my hand badly enough that it kept me up at night. I tried everything conventional, including pain-relieving creams, Tylenol and cold packs. Nothing helped.”
She came across lavender essential oil and found relief.
“That moment opened my eyes to the power of simple, natural ingredients,” she said. “From there, I began making products for my own family and friends, which eventually grew into my Everyday Essentials line: whipped tallows, healing salves and lip balms.”
Delgado, who lives in Dell Rapids, grew up on a farm and always loved cattle, calves, beef and butter along with tallow, which sparked the inspiration for her own product line.
“It’s so versatile for cooking and skin care alike,” she said. “It’s so compatible with our own skin; it makes the perfect base for my products.
“I love slow-infusing tallow with herbs for my healing salves and lip balms to give them extra ‘oomph.’ That intentional, handcrafted process is what I believe makes my products truly special.”
Products include a whipped tallow for everyday moisture, an infused lip balm and a healing salve for things like rashes, cuts, scrapes or burns.
“The healing salve is a true miracle worker. … On my kiddos, it can even reverse a diaper rash overnight,” Delgado said. “I’m really proud of these products. They’re simple, effective and staples in my own home, and it brings me so much joy to share them with others.”
This will be Delgado’s second year participating in the 605 Made Holiday Market and said it quickly has become her favorite event.
“I love the idea of finding unique gifts and handcrafted items, all in one place, made by people with local values, meaningful stories and a true passion for what they create. The quality at this market is incredible; you can genuinely feel the care that goes into every product. It makes each item such a meaningful gift,” she added.
This year, she looks forward to bringing her full Everyday Essentials line, some Man Hands Whipped Tallow and a few pieces from her Motherhood Line – usually exclusive only to Elegant Mommy and Flourish Wellness Birth Co. in Sioux Falls.
Prices range from $6.50 to $18.
Delgado’s Essentials Line also is available anytime at the family’s LaDelle and Fourth Coffeehouse in Dell Rapids.
A. Delgado & Co. will be among more than 50 makers in this year’s 605 Made Holiday Market, which will take place in the lower-level parking garage of the original Cherapa Place building, which is on the east side of the Big Sioux River between Sixth and Eighth streets. It will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.
