A new salon specializing in services for men has opened at Dawley Farm Village.

Gents Grooming is now seeing clients from its new space in the retail center that includes Subway and Verizon Wireless.

“I like it a lot,” owner Rob Davis said. “I have about 300 clientele of my own, and I have been crazy busy with new clientele as well, which is nice.”

Gents Grooming offers hair and beard services for men, along with eyebrow, nose and ear waxing services. There’s also a “little gent’s cut” for kids age 3 to 12. Massage and aesthetician work is coming in about a month — and your dog is welcome in the salon too, Davis said.

“Appointments are strongly encouraged,” he said. “I’ve had to turn people away because I wasn’t expecting to be that busy, so appointments are much better for clientele, and then they won’t have to wait.”

He has hired a front desk representative, a stylist and a masseuse, with a chair remaining for rent.

“I’m going to wait until I find the right staff,” he said. “I’ve had a lot of interest in positions, but I’m being selective.”

Davis, who began his career in sales, shifted to becoming a stylist to cut down on travel and spend more time with his kids. He graduated two years ago from Stewart School and worked in a salon suite before moving into Dawley Farm Village.

The space itself is a trendy, modern design, and the salon also offers products from Depot, a men’s line from Italy offering high-quality hair, beard and skin products.

“We’re excited to add Gents Grooming to our tenant mix at Dawley Farms,” said Raquel Blount of Lloyd Cos., who represented the development in leasing the space. “Rob has a great following already, and we think he’s going to not only find interest from the growing neighborhoods in this area but become a destination himself.”

Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. The salon at 1027 S. Highline Place is closed Mondays.
