Restaurant Roundup: New breakfast/lunch spot downtown, daily specials, craft beer

Now that Fernson Coffee + Tea is part of Fernson Downtown, the taproom’s kitchen, Wagoo Burger, will start serving breakfast, beginning Friday. To celebrate, the first 50 people to buy a coffee or tea will get a free breakfast sandwich. The breakfast menu hours are 7 to 11 a.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

Also, Wagoo Burger has a new menu for lunch and dinner. Additions include hummus with veggies and fried pita chips, a shrimp po’boy and grilled chicken sandwich. The new “Make It ‘Licious” section provides the opportunity for people to add extras like a second patty or bacon jam. That gives people the ability to re-create The Wagoolicious from January’s Downtown Burger Battle.

Botski’s Bar & Grill has revised its daily specials. Starting Friday, there will be two daily happy hours. From 3 to 6 p.m., get $1 off all beer and wine, and from 9 p.m. to close, get half-price beer. Monday is first responder and military appreciation night. People in those professions will get a 15 percent discount on their food. The food special that night is a hand-breaded pork tenderloin sandwich with a side. Tuesday night is a hot club melt with fries or tots for $11. Wednesday is ladies night with half-price bottles of wine or $1 off a glass of wine. The Thursday night special is a three-piece dark meat fried chicken dinner for $8.25. Saturday is half-priced appetizers from 2 to 5 p.m., and Sunday is half-priced pizzas from 3 p.m. to close.

If you’re a fan of margaritas, Plaza Azteca has a new special. Margarita Mondays features $2 off any margarita on the menu all day.

The eighth annual Downtown Mash Madness features all five downtown taprooms and one from the east side appearing as a guest tap. Competing throughout March with their craft beers are Covert Artisan Ales & Cellars, Fernson Downtown, Remedy Brewing Co., Severance Brewing Co. and WoodGrain Brewing Co. Sioux Falls Chef is featuring Girl Scout Cookies in cheesecake and truffle offerings in March. Here’s the schedule: March 4-9, Adventureful and Samoas; March 11-16, Thin Mint, Do-si-Do and Trefoil; March 18-23b Lemon-Ups and Tagalong; March 25-30, S’mores and Toffee Tastic.

DaDa Gastropub has added a few new menu items. Among the offerings: DaDa Philly, Seasonal Bowl, Caprese Salad and the Gastropub Burger. The Seasonal Bowl is filled with mirepoix, squash, spinach, apple, peppadew, pickled ginger, gochujang bean sauce, avocado, cabbage, fried egg and pear crisp. The Gastropub Burger is topped with Guinness onions, bourbon gold sauce, blue cheese, cheddar, bacon and spinach.

Harvester Kitchen by Bryan is hosting an Oscars Gala dinner March 10 and is having customers vote now on which favorite dishes will appear on the menu. The voting is happening on social media. Reserve seats for the $195 dinner by clicking here.

Berrybrook Dairy Nook near Freeman will be sampling its new retail ice cream offerings twice next week. Find it from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pomegranate Market and from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Sioux Falls Food Co+op.

Several restaurants have special seafood offerings for Lent.

    • Krav’n has several new options: tempura-battered walleye fingers, the quesadilla Artichoke and Mushroom Dilla and a po’boy wrap with Cajun shrimp. Customers also can add Cajun fried or sauteed shrimp to any salad.

  • Blue Rock Bar & Grill and Great Shots’ offerings are available daily.

  • The Alibi has a special menu, and the fish offerings are available only until Easter.

The DQ Grill & Chill in Hartford has chosen Almost Home Canine Rescue as the recipient of its Pup Cup program this year. Pup Cup treats for pets cost $1, and DQ will donate the entire purchase price to the local nonprofit. Learn more about Felicia in the poster below by clicking here.

Outback Steakhouse has a limited-time three-course special for $17. Choose from five entrees with a side: 6-ounce center-cut sirloin, grilled chicken or grilled shrimp on the barbie, Gold Coast coconut shrimp or The Bloomin’ Burger. Upgrade the entree for $3 to get an 8-ounce sirloin or Bloomin’ Fried Chicken. The starter course is soup or salad, and dessert is a slice of New York-style cheesecake with your choice of topping.

Perkins Restaurant & Bakery has a new 5 Meals Under $10 deal for dine-in at participating locations. Choose from meatloaf, jumbo shrimp, chicken strips, country fried steak or grilled fish with shrimp. The offer is good through March 19. Other limited-time offerings include the Coastal Classics menu with seafood dishes for Lent and the Butcher Block lineup for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Carrot cake also has returned.

The spring menu at Scooter’s Coffee includes three new drinks: the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Latte, Cinnamon Creme Cold Brew and the Lil’ Leprechaun, a kid-size version of the Lucky Leprechaun. Returning favorites include the Prickly Pear Scoot Energy Infusion and Caramelicious Latte with sweet cold foam.

Wendy’s has teamed up with Cinnabon for a new addition to the breakfast menu: Cinnabon Pull-Aparts. They’re made from sweetened dough dunked in a glaze.

Nothing Bundt Cakes will start baking its latest pop-up flavor Monday. The Chocolate Turtle Pop-Up Bundtlet will be available for two weeks or as long as supplies last. Also available through March or while supplies last is the featured flavor Oreo Cookies & Cream, which comes in all sizes.

The traveling food truck On the Hook Fish & Chips will be back in Sioux Falls on Saturday but at a new location. Find the truck at the west-side Menards at 3001 S. Shirley Ave. from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Overboard Charcuterie has moved from working out of the kitchen at the Full Circle Book Co-op and into Monick Yards, 605 E. Changes in hours, service

  • Glacial Lakes Distillery & Brewhouse is open again on Mondays.
  • Starting Friday, Watecha Bowl is starting spring/summer hours: 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday, 2 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 2 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Hours will be adjusted as needed; check Facebook for day-to-day changes.
  • Severance Brewing Co. starts spring hours in March: 2 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 11 pm. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
  • Bella Cucina Ristorante has new hours: 4:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday and noon to 8 p.m. Saturday.
