After about 30 years at The Empire Mall, Taco John’s has left the food court.

Sunday was the last day for the location franchised by Ted Miller.

“It’s kind of a bummer to see it after 30 years, but everybody makes their business decisions, and we had to make ours,” he said. “We tried to work through the lease renewal, and I think they truly tried to work through it with us, and we just couldn’t make it happen for both parties.”

His next closest location to the mall is 59th Street and Louise Avenue.

Employees were able to move to other locations.

It’s the second mall food court closing in about a month. Fat Kid Pizza closed just before Christmas.
