Live art, 3-D printing coming to 605 Made Spring Market
May 3, 2019
Shop local and celebrate spring today with the 605 Made Spring Market.
The pop-up market will be from noon to 8 p.m. in the atrium of 605 Made sponsor The First National Bank in Sioux Falls at Ninth and Phillips.
It’s organized by Knotty Gnome Variety & Salvage and SiouxFalls.Business.
Along with a wide selection of products from 20 area makers, here’s what else you’ll discover at this spring’s market:
3-D creations
The students at Southeast Tech have stepped up their game in 3-D printing for this spring’s market.
Johnnie Schroeder’s rapid-prototyping class frequently shows and sells its work at 605 Made events, with money raised benefiting the program.
This time, they’re bringing a desktop fountain replicating Falls Park as well as a wide variety of other items such as flexible animals, rubber band guns and holders for ear buds and cellphones.
Make-and-take
Become a maker yourself at the spring market thanks to an appearance by AR Workshop. The DIY business at the Western Mall is going on the road to offer $5 and $10 make-and-take projects during the market.
Sip and shop
The 605 Made Spring Market is a stop on the Art & Wine Walk presented by Downtown Sioux Falls Inc. It runs from 5 to 8 p.m. and features about 30 stops and artists.
Stained glass artist Heidi Schrag will be creating her works at the market, where you also can buy her items through Handcrafted by Heidi.
