Leadership opportunities await thanks to Silverstar’s rapid growth

It’s Andrew Hecht’s job to show prospective team members why they should consider joining the Silverstar Car Wash team – and that’s a message he recently embraced himself.

Hecht, a new talent acquisition team member for Mammoth Holdings, Silverstar’s parent company, was drawn to the role by the potential he sees companywide.

Andrew Hecht, center, joined Mammoth in March.

“Mammoth is right on the edge of huge growth, so it was a good opportunity for me to jump on, and it’s an excellent opportunity for others as well,” he said.

Sioux Falls, with 11 Silverstar locations, offers ways to join the team at all levels.

“And right now, we have multiple site manager openings, which is a great opportunity for leaders,” Hecht said.

“It’s the No. 1 role at each location.”

Site manager roles are a strong fit both for those who have grown within Silverstar from the ground up and for those coming in from other industries, he said.

“We find people who have food and beverage management experience can find these careers are a very good transition from what they’ve done previously,” Hecht said. “They’re used to inventory management and ordering, leading people and overseeing customer service.”

Plus, the business model at Silverstar can be a lot more work-life friendly.

“We’re open fewer hours than most restaurants, so we’re locking the door at 8 p.m., and you can get home and read to your kids and put them to bed or have the evening open for yourself,” Hecht said.

“We find people who come from fast-casual restaurants and coffee shops generally make the transition very well and like our hours and environment.”

Site manager roles in Sioux Falls are open on East 10th Street and South Marion Road.

Plus, there are openings for managers in training in Sioux Falls.

“You’ll be learning the ins and outs of the car wash business with this role, so we don’t require management experience, just a willingness to learn,” Hecht said. “We are willing to train anyone who comes in with the mindset of learning.”

From there, you can grow into an assistant site manager and site manager role.

“We generally have those next steps available,” Hecht said. “And even site managers can grow into district managers at times without leaving their home market.”

Plus, Silverstar and the broader Mammoth organization are expanding so rapidly that there are nearby roles in Des Moines, Fargo and the Twin Cities – or even nationally.

“Many of these are easy drives to and from Sioux Falls, so you can move for experience if you’d like and then consider returning when an opportunity is available,” Hecht said. “Once you’re internal, you really have visibility to all the opportunities throughout Mammoth. A lot of our corporate roles are in Atlanta and Dallas, but remote work can be an option in the right situation.”

There also are opportunities for front-line team members. Many Silverstar leaders have started as wash attendants and cashiers.

“Training and development is at the forefront of what we do. It’s constant and ongoing, and that becomes available to you at every level,” Hecht said. “It’s also totally flexible. We have a lot of high school and college students who work for us, and we’re often able to accommodate their scheduling.”

Full-time team members enjoy generous benefits, including comprehensive medical care and an employee assistance program that addresses mental health needs, he said.

“And as things continue to develop under the Mammoth umbrella, we’re able to do even more for our team,” Hecht added.

There already are 200 washes nationwide, and that could more than double in a year, he continued.

“It’s a great time to learn what we’re all about and get ready to grow with us.”
