Jack Rose Social Club nears opening of downtown location

Sept. 11, 2025

Jack Rose Social Club is getting closer to opening its second Sioux Falls location.

The almost 6,400-square-foot new bar and restaurant will be part of downtown’s The Steel District on the first floor of a building that includes a parking ramp, condos and The District Lofts apartments.

That’s considerably bigger than the original location at 69th Street and Western Avenue, though the menus will be the same.

“It’s coming together quickly,” said Vinnie Olson, regional manager for owner Commonwealth Group. “We’re going to be very alcohol-forward. We want to be more of a bar than a restaurant, but it’s a very nice menu with a lot of variety.”

Newer dishes include a linguine with lobster tail, vodka mussels, a jalapeno burger and the Speakeasy Stacker hot beef sandwich. The overall menu includes a mix of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees.

“We’re going to keep the food and drink as similar as possible,” Olson said. “Really the only thing that changes is the location, the size and look.”

The interior of the downtown location is entirely custom, with a large bar that also opens to the outdoors.

The restaurant also includes two patios, with one that will allow guests to listen to concerts at Levitt at the Falls.

Inside, there are separate areas for casinos, with two spaces that will have 10 machines each.

Walk-in interviews are being held daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the restaurant, 150 E. Fourth Place.

The hope is to open sometime next week.
